The Schomburg Center for Research in Black Culture just launched its first exhibition of 2014, MOTOWN: THE TRUTH IS A HIT. Featuring items that highlight Motown's inimitable founder Berry Gordy and the institution's most beloved musical acts, the multi-media showcase chronicles one of the most significant record labels in American music history. Manhattan Theatre Club presented its annual Winter Benefit, an evening of cocktails and dinner followed by a special one-night-only cabaret-style show featuring Broadway's brightest stars last night, February 3, 2014 at The Allen Room at Jazz at Lincoln Center's Fredrick P. Rose Hall (Broadway & 60th Street). This year's Winter Benefit was directed by Marc Bruni (Beautiful: The Carole King Musical, The Explorers Club) and featured performances by Tony Award nominee Daniel Breaker (Shrek, Passing Strange), two-time Tony Award Winner Norbert Leo Butz (Big Fish, Catch Me If You Can ), two-time Tony Award nominee Laura Osnes (Rogers & Hammerstein's Cinderella, Bonnie & Clyde), and two-time Tony Award nominee Condola Rashad (Romeo & Juliet, The Trip To Bountiful). Emily McNamara, Scott Richard Foster & More to Star in THE CHOCOLATE SHOW! Off-Broadway

Casting is now complete for The Chocolate Show!, the world's tastiest new musical having its world premiere this winter in NYC. Arriving just in time for Valentine's Day, The Chocolate Show! will feature Emily McNamara, Laura D'Andre, Scott Richard Foster, Talene Monahon and Andrew Pandaleon. Performances begin on Saturday, February 1 with an official opening night set for Friday, February 14 at the 47th Street Theatre, 304 West 47th Street between 8th and 9th Avenues. Featuring book and music by Alan Golub & Laura Goldfader, lyrics by Mr. Golub, The Chocolate Show! is directed by Dan Foster, choreographed by Grady McLeod Bowman and under the music direction of Jeffrey Klitz, who also provided the arrangements and orchestrations. Tickets for The Chocolate Show! are $39.50 - $59.50 and can be arranged online at www.ticketcentral.com or by calling 212.279.4200 or at the TicketCentral Box Office located at 416 West 42nd Street. The 47th Street Theatre box office (304 West 47th Street) will open 30 minutes before each performance.

Bobby Cronin, Catherine Porter & More Set for UGLY CHRISTMAS SWEATER CABARET for NY Cares Tonight

Ugly Sweater Productions presents the Second Annual UGLY CHRISTMAS SWEATER CABARET on Monday, December 16th at 9:30 pm at The Duplex. A benefit for the 25th Annual New York Cares Coat Drive, the cabaret will be hosted by Vanessa Hidary, aka 'The Hebrew Mamita', and will feature Bobby Cronin, Catherine Porter, Frank Pizzaro, Wayne Miller and Cheo Bourne of pop vocal group The Platters, Erik Sisco, Fiona Pui Shan Hui, Brett Dameron, Maria Maloney and Alison Rose Munn. Kimberly Faith Hickman directs, with musical direction by William Demaniow.
