Broadway Cares/ Equity Fights AIDS, and Broadway Impact present Broadway's 'It Gets Better' video featuring 63 members of the New York theatrical community speaking to LGBTQ youth.
Rosie O'Donnell is a lifelong fan and former star of Broadway, and she's welcomed many of stars of the stage, past and present, on 'Rosie Radio', her daily SIRIUS XM show, for interviews and special performances. On this Tony Awards special Rosie shares her thoughts on this season's nominated shows and actors and plays some of her favorite Broadway moments from her radio show, including: a brand-new interview with Carrie Fisher, star of 'Wishful Drinking', and interviews with Kevin Chamberlain, Tony-nominee for 'The Addams Family' and Valerie Harper, Tony-nominee for 'Looped.' Also on the special: John Gallagher Jr., Michael Esper, Stark Sands from 'American Idiot' perform 'Wake Me Up When September Ends.'
STANDING ON CEREMONY: THE GAY MARRIAGE PLAYS, a collection of short plays written for marriage equality to benefit Human Rights Campaign, Marriage Equality New York and New York Theatre Workshop will take place on Monday, June 14, 2010 at 7:00 p.m. at the Angel Orensanz Center, 172 Norfolk Street in New York City, between Houston and Stanton Streets. Dancing and a glamorous wedding reception will follow.

Today, in honor of the Tony Awards on Sunday, we close out the season with the last two recordings related to the 2009-2010 Broadway season with an exclusive First Listen to the PROMISES, PROMISES Broadway Revival Recording starring Sean Hayes and Kristin Chenoweth courtesy of the kind folks at Sony, as well as the Original Broadway Cast Recording of THE ADDAMS FAMILY starring Nathan Lane and Bebe Neuwirth. These recordings certainly offer strong proof of the best - and worst - that Broadway has to offer in the modern age. Everything old may be new again in the case of PROMISES, but everything new is tired old-hat as far as ADDAMS goes as we will soon see.
Well my lovelies, we are now only days away from the 2010 Tonys. As you know from reading my last few columns and my frequent excited tweets, the Awards have been on my mind for weeks. I'm getting exponentially more excited as the day grows closer; it seems like now is the time to post my analysis of the nominees - including my picks for who should, and who will, win big this year.
Last night, May 23, the Drama Desk Association hosted the 55th Annual Drama Desk Awards ceremony at the F.H. LaGuardia Concert Hall at Lincoln Center. Former Drama Desk Award winner Patti LuPone hosted the ceremony, which honored the best of Broadway and off in the 2009-2010 season. BroadwayWorld.com provided live coverage on the site throughout the ceremony and was on hand at the event to capture the starry arrivals.

The first BROADWAY BARES in 1992 featured seven dancers stripping on a bar and raised over $8,000. Since then, the 19 editions of BROADWAY BARES have collectively raised over $6.5 million to benefit BC/EFA. BROADWAY BARES 19.0: 'CLICK IT!' was produced by Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS, created and executive produced by Tony Award-winner Jerry Mitchell (Catch Me If You Can, Legally Blonde, Peepshow in Las Vegas), and was conceived and directed by Peter Gregus (Jersey Boys).
BROADWAY BARES 19.0: 'CLICK IT!' was an astounding success raising $808,819 to benefit Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS. Both performances of BROADWAY BARES sold out faster than any previous edition with all 5,902 available tickets being sold by Friday, June 19th.
