As first reported on Deadline.com, actor Ryan Phillippe is backing out of the starring role in an upcoming drama pilot for the CBS network. The pilot is from Greg Berlanti ('Brothers and Sisters') and executive producer Nicholas Wootton.

TNT has booked a third season of its critically acclaimed drama SOUTHLAND, from Warner Bros. Television and Emmy(R)-winning producer John Wells (ER, The West Wing). The network has ordered 10 episodes for the third season, which is slated to begin airing in January 2011.
