A star-studded countdown to the 69th Annual Tony Awards® ceremony begins on CUNY TV with the all-new special, 2015 TONY AWARDS PREVIEW, co-hosted by entertainment reporter Pat Collins and four-time Tony winner Harvey Fierstein. Collins and Fierstein team up at Sardi's in Times Square, and introduce segments consisting of clips and interviews in all of the leading categories, including Best Play, Best Musical and Best Revivals. With exclusive interviews totaling 28 Tony nominees, the special debuts Friday, May 29 (2015) on CUNY TV* at 10am, 3pm and 8:30pm; is repeated Sunday 5/31 at noon and Friday 6/5 at 10am, 3pm and 8:30pm, and returns as part of a multi-show Tony Marathon on Sunday, June 7, leading right up to the Tony Awards telecast. The 2015 Tony Awards will broadcast live from Radio City Music Hall in New York City, on CBS, on Sunday, June 7th 8:00 - 11:00 p.m. (ET/PT time delay) and are presented by The Broadway League and the American Theatre Wing.
Big-name stars, blockbuster musicals, riveting revivals and brand new dramas: "Broadway Backstage: Spring Preview" gives you a taste of them all. This half-hour special airs on Saturday, May 30th at 7pm and is hosted by WABC-TV's Reporter/Anchor, Michelle Charlesworth and James Monroe Iglehart, the Genie in Disney's Aladdin, for which he won the 2014 Tony Award for Best Featured Actor in a Musical.

The critically acclaimed musical received an impressive nine Tony Award Nominations, including Best Musical Revival, Best Leading Actor in a Musical (Ken Watanabe), Best Leading Actress In a Musical (Kelli O'Hara), Best Featured Actress in a Musical (Ruthie Ann Miles), Best Scenic Design of a Musical (Michael Yeargan), Best Costume Design of a Musical (Catherine Zuber), Best Lighting Design of a Musical (Donald Holder), Best Direction of a Musical (Bartlett Sher) and Best Choreography (Christopher Gattelli). The show has also garnered 5 Outer Critics Circle nominations including Best Musical Revival.
Lincoln Center Theater (under the direction of Producing Artistic Director, Andre Bishop) has extended the run of its critically acclaimed production of Rodgers and Hammerstein's THE KING AND I, directed by Bartlett Sher, indefinitely at the Vivian Beaumont Theater (150 West 65 Street). In addition, the Ambassador Theatre Group and NETworks Presentations LLC will launch a national tour of the Lincoln Center Theater production, which was recently nominated for 9 Tony Awards including Best Revival of a Musical, in November 2016 in Providence, RI. The National Tour will play multi-week and single week engagements throughout the 2016-17 touring season and beyond. Casting and additional engagements for the tour will be announced at a future date.
