Sean Hayes Talks Missing PROMISES, PROMISES Tonight

Sean Hayes will not perform at the Tuesday, November 23, 2010 performance of PROMISES, PROMISES due to a sinus infection. He also did not perform at the matinee on Sunday, November 21. In a statement, Hayes said 'I wish I never had to miss a show. I'd sleep on the stage if the doorman didn't kick me out. I made it all the way to 271 performances but my doctor tells me that singing with a sinus infection just won't work, which kills my dream of never missing a performance for the whole run of Promises. I'm at home resting and hope to be back onstage tomorrow.'

Chenoweth 'Dizzy' at PROMISES; To Miss Wednesday Matinee

The New York Times is reporting that at last night's evening performance of PROMISES, PROMISES, star Kristin Chenoweth was reportedly feeling 'dizzy' and missed the show's curtain call. An ambulance was called for the star (said to be a standard procedure) and she was diagnosed with mild dehydration. The show's reps tell the Times that she will miss today's matinee, but is expected back in the show tonight.

It has been a banner year for PROMISES, PROMISES' Katie Finneran. Her critically acclaimed performance as Marge MacDougall in the smash hit musical comedy PROMISES, PROMISES swept the 2010 awards season winning her the Tony Award, Drama Desk Award and Outer Critics Circle Award. On Sunday, August 22, Ms. Finneran married long time companion Darren Goldstein (Bloody, Bloody Andrew Jackson), and now the couple has announced that they are expecting a child this winter. It is with best wishes that the producers of PROMISES, PROMISES announced today that Tony Award winner Katie Finneran will play her final performance in the smash hit musical comedy on Sunday, October 10, 2010. This new production of PROMISES, PROMISES, directed and choreographed by Tony and Emmy Award winner Rob Ashford with Neil Simon's funny and touching book and Burt Bacharach and Hal David's hit-packed score, began previews at the Broadway Theatre (1681 Broadway) Saturday, March 27, 2010, and opened on Sunday, April 25, 2010. MoMA Announces ContemporAsian Line-up

MoMA announces the fall line-up for its ongoing ContemporAsian series in The Roy and Niuta Titus Theaters, showcasing films that get little exposure outside of their home countries or on the international festival circuit, but which engage the various styles, histories, and changes in Asian cinema. Presented in special weeklong engagements, the films in the series include recent independent gems by both new and established filmmakers whose work represent the rapidly transforming visual culture of the region. ContemporAsian is organized by Jytte Jensen, Curator, Department of Film, The Museum of Modern Art, with William Phuan, independent curator.

PROMISES, PROMISES to Play Final Broadway Performance on Sunday, January 2, 2011

The producers of PROMISES, PROMISES announced today that the smash hit, Tony Award-winning revival will play its final performance on Broadway on Sunday, January 2, 2011, having played 30 preview and 291 regular performances. The show's stars Sean Hayes, Kristin Chenoweth, Tony Goldwyn, Dick Latessa and Molly Shannon have all extended their contracts for an additional week to ring in the New Year. PROMISES, PROMISES is expected to recoup its investment in the coming weeks with complete details to be announced at that time. In addition the producers are excited to announce that discussions have begun for a possible tour of this new production of PROMISES, PROMISES, with more details to follow. DeGeneres Makes a Surprise Cameo in PROMISES

Last night, September 7, Ellen DeGeneres made a surprise cameo in PROMISES, PROMISES as the 'Nurse' in Act 1, performing alongside Sean Hayes and Kristin Chenoweth. The cameo was orchestrated as a promo for the upcoming season of her talk show, The Ellen DeGeneres show. In a move that surprised everyone, her walk-on was kept under wraps until her debut last night, with media not being alerted until midnight following the performance.
