Last week, BWW reported that Hulu had abandoned its plan to acquire the NBC comedy COMMUNITY. But today, The Hollywood Reporter writes that the series has found a home on Yahoo Screen, and just in time! Sony Pictures Television stated earlier that the actors' contracts were set to expire today, June 30. COMMUNITY will air 13 new episodes beginning this fall.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, David Javerbaum, former Daily Show writer, just sold a movie pitch to Summit Entertainment. As of now, it is said that Ken Jeong will star in the film. Steve Carell is also in negotiations to produce through his Carousel Productions banner.

The fifth season reunites popular creator Dan Harmon with his funny and quick-witted ensemble cast. Led by Joel McHale (TV's “The Soup”), Community also stars Gillian Jacobs (TV's “The Good Wife”), Danny Pudi (TV's “Greek”), Yvette Nicole Brown (TV's “Rules of Engagement”), Alison Brie (TV's “Mad Men”), Donald Glover (TV's “Girls”), Ken Jeong (The Hangover Part III) and Academy Award® winner Jim Rash (Best Writing, Adapted Screenplay; The Descendants, 2011). In the fifth season, Greendale College is in a stage of transition with the addition of new teachers and new students. Paired with the original gang, the result is more off-kilter hijinks for every Community fan to enjoy.
