Japanese-Language 'Chicago' to Debut in Tokyo, October

Plans are underway for the first Japanese-language production of Kander and Ebb's Tony Award-winning Broadway musical phenomenon Chicago. The production is set to debut this October at the Akasaka ACT Theatre in Tokyo, followed by an engagement at the Umeda Art Theatre in Osaka in November.

Grammy-Winner Mýa is Velma Kelly in 'Chicago' This Summer

Langford, Edwards & James Extend Runs in 'Chicago'

Bonnie Langford and Brenda Edwards have both extended their starring runs as 'Roxie Hart' and 'Mama Morton' in the smash hit West End musical Chicago at the Cambridge Theatre by four weeks until 24 February, and Duncan James has extended his starring run as 'Billy Flynn' by two weeks until 10 February. Amra-Faye Wright and Paul Rider will continue to play the starring roles of 'Velma Kelly' and 'Amos Hart' until 24 February.

'New Jerusalem' Extends Until Feb.10

Wide critical acclaim and brisk ticket sales have prompted Classic Stage Company, under the leadership of Artistic Director Brian Kulick and Executive Director Jessica R. Unless the painters have been around the past few days, a bit of graffiti on the Classic Stage Company's men's room wall reads, 'Good Theatre + Great Coffee + Clean Bathroom = CSC.'  While the lobby's Everyman Espresso Café and (I would assume) some eager young intern are keeping the latter two parts of that equation accurate, director Walter Bobbie's premiere production of David Ives' New Jerusalem is indeed providing some good theatre.
