The Royal Shakespeare Company has announced that the Dodgers will be its producing partner for Roald Dahl's Matilda The Musical on Broadway. Currently playing to sold-out houses in London's West End, the new musical is planning a New York opening in the Spring of 2013.

Michael Attenborough will direct Eduardo de Filippo's Filumena in a new English version by Tanya Ronder running at the Almeida from 15 March - 12 May 2012, with press night on 22 March at 7pm. Designs are by Robert Jones, with lighting by Tim Mitchell and sound by John Leonard. Filumena is sponsored by Pinsent Masons.

The Royal Shakespeare Company has just announced that it is currently planning for its production of Roald Dahl's Matilda The Musical, to open in New York early 2013.

The show transfered to London's West End and opened November 24 to tremendous critical acclaim. Today, Michael Riedel reports in the New York Post that the show is now aiming to open on Broadway in the Spring of 2013, produced by the RSC themselves and overseen by Andre Ptaszynski, who formerly ran Andrew Lloyd Webber's The Really Useful Group.

Hull Truck Theatre has assembled a cast of talent for this production including James Alexandrou (Martin Fowler in EastEnders, Romeo and Juliet, Globe Theatre), Emily Butterfield (Treasure Island, The Canterbury Tales), Rhys Jennings (The Rivals, BBC Radio Drama Company), Daniel Francis-Swaby (Our Town, Vernon God Little) and Elexi Walker (The Vagina Monologues, To Kill A Mockingbird).
