Penobscot Theatre Company announces its 43rd Season, a fresh array of plays of musicals to be staged at the company's historic home, the Bangor Opera House.

After a 3 month absence, (mostly)musicals made a long-awaited return to the E Spot Lounge on Monday, August 15 with ROAD TRIP, the company's 18th entry in a series of themed cabarets. BroadwayWorld takes you inside the event below!

The Samuel French Off Off Broadway Short Play Festival, the nation's premier short play competition, takes place August 9 - 14 at the East 13th Street Theater (Classic Stage Company).

The Williamston Theater, mid-Michigan's award winning professional theatre company located at 122 S. Putnam in downtown Williamston, celebrates its 11th Season with a mix of comedies, dramas, murders, World Premiers and Michigan Premiers.

Each season, Weston Playhouse Theatre Company lives up to the challenge of producing a schedule that appeals to its wide-ranging and devoted audience. Family-friendly events, blockbuster musicals, and masterworks are off-set by critically-acclaimed contemporary plays and performances. Fresh from an extended Off-Broadway run, Murder for Two is one of these remarkable pickups, just in time for the Company's 80th anniversary season! It opens August 11 on Weston's second stage. Two actors play thirteen roles - and one piano - delivering 90 minutes of music, mayhem, and murder. Come along for the ride as small town cop Marcus Moscowicz desperately tries to solve the murder of Great American Novelist Arthur Whitney before the real detective shows up.

Second Stage Theatre 2016 Uptown Series' production of ENGAGEMENTS officially opens for an extended run tonight, August 4th.

Chosen from 1,500 submissions from the U.S. and abroad, 30 finalist plays, each running 10-30 minutes in length, will be presented.

Second Stage Theatre 2016 Uptown Series' production of ENGAGEMENTS has been extended by one week and will now play through Saturday, August 20.

Director Jimmy Maize (Spoon River Anthology at The Invisible Dog) and BOSS (En Garde Arts) will lead actresses Libby Winters (American Idiot) and Ito Aghayere (Lortel Nomination for Familiar at Playwrights Horizons) in Uniforms by Jeffrey James Keyes (The End of Days &Imaginary Friends) next month in the Samuel French 41st Annual Off Off Broadway Short Play Festival in New York City.
