The touring production of THE LION KING now playing at the Providence Performing Arts Center is absolutely exceptional. One would be hard-pressed to find a finer or stronger assembly of actors, singers, and dancers than this remarkable company.

Many throughout the world have seen the iconic story of The Lion King, the 1994 Disney musical animation that has captured the hearts of young and old alike, but to see it on stage is a whole other experience entirely.

Casting has been announced for the Providence engagement of Disney's THE LION KING. The six-time Tony Award winner triumphantly returns to the Providence Performing Arts Center (PPAC) for a limited three-week engagement, from Tuesday, February 28 to Sunday, March 19, 2017. 

Disney's The Lion King, in all its magic and majesty, roared into San Francisco's Orpheum Theater and will be here now through December 31. If you're one for keeping a bucket list of must-see things to do and see before you 'exit stage left,' then this show is surely one for the list. ?Casting has been announced for the Dayton engagement of Disney's THE LION KING. Dayton's most eagerly awaited stage production ever will leap onto the Schuster stage from Tuesday, June 7 to Sunday, July 3. The press opening night is Wednesday, June 8 at 8 p.m.  The show's four-week premiere engagement in 2011 played a sold-out run at the Schuster Center.  

Broadway In Chicago is currently presenting the return engagement of DISNEY'S THE LION KING. The World's #1 Musical leap tonto the stage of the Cadillac Palace Theatre (151 W Randolph) on December 2, 2015, where it will continue through January 17, 2016. Heather Headley, the musical's original Nala on Broadway, attended Saturday night's performance, where she caught up with the tour's current Nala, Nia Holloway. The Denver return of Disney's THE LION KING opens tonight, Friday, November 6 at 7:30pm at The Buell Theatre for a limited engagement of four weeks through November 29.

Broadway San Jose at the Center for the Performing Arts plays host to Disney's THE LION KING now through October 4 only. The San Jose return of Disney's THE LION KING opens tonight, Thursday, September 10 at 7:30 p.m. at the Center for the Performing Arts for a limited four-week engagement through Sunday, October 4. In San Jose, THE LION KING plays Tuesday through Thursday evenings at 7:30 p.m.; Friday evenings at 8 p.m.; Saturdays at 2 and 8 p.m.; and Sundays at 1 and 6:30 p.m., with an additional matinee performance on Thursday, September 17 at 1 p.m.

The Memphis return of Disney's THE LION KING opens tonight, Thursday, February 5th at 7:30 PM at the Orpheum Theatre for a limited engagement of 4 weeks through Sunday, March 1st.

The Fort Lauderdale return of Disney's THE LION KING opens tonight, Friday, January 9 at 8:00 p.m. at the Broward Center for the Performing Arts for a limited engagement of four weeks through Sunday, February 1.

The Milwaukee return of Disney's THE LION KING opens tonight, Thursday, November 13 at 7:30 pm at the Milwaukee Theatre for a limited engagement of four weeks through Sunday, December 7. In Milwaukee, THE LION KING plays Tuesday through Thursday evenings at 7:30 pm, Fridays at 8:00 pm, Saturdays at 2:00 pm and 8:00 pm and Sundays at 1:00 pm and 6:30 pm. There will be special weekday matinee performances on Friday, November 28 at 2:00 pm and Thursday, December 4 at 2:00 pm. There will not be a performance on Thursday, November 27 (Thanksgiving). The show's five-week premiere engagement in 2008 played a sold-out run at the Milwaukee Theatre. 'Thus far sales have exceeded our expectations for the return of Lion King in Milwaukee, but there are still great seats available,' said Paul Mathews, President and CEO of the Marcus Center.

Not all memories of THE LION KING are good ones.

Tis good to be the queen. Few people know that more than Tryphena Wade, a 1999 Pickerington High School graduate who plays Sarabi in a touring production of Disney's THE LION KING. The production opens in Columbus on Oct. 14 and will stay in the city until Nov. 9 at Ohio Theatre.

The national tour of THE LION KING returns to kick off the 10th Broadway In Boston season at the Boston Opera House, most fittingly as the musical reopened the venue following its historic renovation in 2004. Some of the effects have diminished over the years, but the opening night audience roared its approval.
