On Sunday, October 27 Charlotte Mary Wen, winner of LA's Next Great Stage Star 2013, made her long awaited cabaret debut at Sterling's Upstairs at the Federal with Time to Take a Breath directed by Peter Welkin and with musical direction by Dr. James Lent. Petite, pretty and ultra confidant, the terrific singer truly soared, leaving past anxieties far behind her.
Very Intense Productions and Your Theatrics (Jeremy Youett and Jacob Harvey) will present Ryan Scott Oliver's Darling, at 54 Below (254 West 54th Street, New York, NY) on Monday, November 4 at 7:00 and 9:30 p.m. Darling is produced in association with Grammy Award winning Kurt Deutsch and Sh-k-boom, and is part of RSO Fest, a series of concerts showcasing the scores of three new musicals by composer Ryan Scott Oliver. RSO Fest launched at New York's premier Supper Club, 54 Below, on October 7 with 35mm: A Musical Exhibition (in association with Tony Award winning producer John Johnson and will conclude with Jasper in Deadland completing the trilogy on Monday, November 18 (produced in association with Prospect Theater Company).

BroadwayWorld has just learned that Norbert Leo Butz, who is currently leading BIG FSH at the Neil Simon Theatre, will be out of the show tonight, October 10, due to illness. Butz revealed to BroadwayWolrd's Richard Ridge on Sunday's opening night that he was feeling 'under the weather.' Understudy Ben Crawford will step in for Butz in his absence.
In today's New York Times 'In Performance' video, Tony Award winner Norbert Leo Butz, who portrays Edward Bloom in the new Broadway musical BIG FISH, sings the number 'Fight the Dragons,' in which he shares his love of telling stories with his young son. ONCE UPON A TIME IN NEW YORK CITY 3, A Concert For The Actors Fund featuring world premiere songs by Jeff Bowen, David Kirshenbaum, Miller & Tysen, Katie Thompson, and more, will perform live at 54 Below on November 19 at 9pm.
INSPIRED: A Benefit Concert for the ASPCA of NYC and The Last Resort Rescue of NJ took place on September 22, 2013. The concert invited the audience into the hearts and minds of some of today's exciting musical theatre writers in a casual and intimate setting as they sit behind the piano and, unlike traditional concerts of their material, perform songs by other writers that have inspired their work.
