The Cape Cod Theatre Company, home of the Harwich Junior Theatre, is pleased to bring Ernest Thompson's beloved 1979 play On Golden Pond to its stage as the first show of its anticipated fall season. Thompson's play, which was made into the well-known 1981 movie starring Henry Fonda and Katharine Hepburn, will run as a CCTC main-stage production from September 16th thru October 9th, under the direction of Susan Kosoff.

The iconic Royal Alexandra Theatre, one of the oldest continuously operating legitimate theatres in North America, will close its doors on May 15, 2016, after KINKY BOOTS ends its successful 11-month run, to undergo a major renovation and restoration. On Friday March 11 Kirk Frederick's new book Write That Down! The Comedy of Male Actress Charles Pierce was launched at ONE the Gay and Lesbian Archives at the USC Libraries on North Adams in downtown Los Angeles. The sellout event was a benefit for ONE Archives. There were scrumptious hors d'oeuvres, followed by a presentation, which included a video slide montage, a 5 minute film clip from Pierce's appearance, in the early 80s, on The Dick Cavett Show, and then an interview with Kirk Frederick by moderator/ USC professor of English Chris Freeman. Then came a Q and A with the audience and a book signing.

Full casting has been announced for Promethean Theatre Ensemble's production of James Goldman's The Lion in Winter, according to Brian Pastor, director of this production and artistic director of the company. Leading the cast as King Henry II of England and his wife Eleanor of Acquitaine, the roles immortalized by Peter O'Toole and Katharine Hepburn in the 1968 film version, will be Brian Parry and Elaine Carlson. Parry, a Jeff award winner for supporting actor in Redtwist's Shining City, is a four-time Jeff Award nominee and recently earned raves for his portrayal of George in Redtwist's Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf along with his roles in Redtwist's Red and the currently playing The Drawer Boy. Parry has previously appeared with Promethean in The Lark. Carlson was a Jeff winner for Famous Door's Salt of the Earth and was seen recently in Eclipse's A Perfect Ganesh. She has performed previously with Promethean in Tiger at the Gates and A Study in Scarlet.
The Cincinnati Pops Orchestra and Conductor John Morris Russell are pleased to announce the Pops' 2016-2017 season, to be performed at Downtown Cincinnati's historic Taft Theatre, the Orchestra's 'home away from home' while Cincinnati Music Hall undergoes a major renovation during the 2016-17 season. Entering his sixth season as Conductor of the world-famous Cincinnati Pops, Mr. Russell introduces guest artists and concert programs that continue to develop the wide variety of orchestral programming. The Orchestra also announces its summer 2016 concerts, to take place both at the Taft Theatre and Riverbend Music Center.
