Last night at the Australian Writers' Guild's annual AWGIE Awards PJ Hogan was honoured with the Music Theatre Award and the 2018 David Williamson Prize for Muriel's Wedding the Musical.  These two major and prestigious AWGIE acknowledgements continue to add to the productions' unprecedented list of award wins which also includes 5 Helpmann Awards and 7 Sydney Theatre Awards.

The 2018 Helpmann Awards Act II tonight was a star-studded ceremony in front of a full house at the Capitol Theatre Sydney on the set of Priscilla Queen of the Desert the Musical. All Our Exes Live In Texas will be headlining an upcoming US tour, announced today, as their return to North America. Last summer, at a Sydney recording session with Ryan Lewis and Ben Abraham, All Our Exes Live in Texas—the four Australian vocalist-instrumentalists Elana Stone(accordion), Katie Wighton (guitar), Hannah Crofts (ukulele), and Georgia Mooney (mandolin)—laid down backing vocals on an unreleased Kesha song, as a favor to the producer. Little did anyone know then that this very recording would land on 'Praying' in its original form.
