It has been nearly five years since former Sex and the City writers Liz Tuccillo ('Sex and the City,' He's Just Not That Into You), Cindy Chupack (Emmy and three-time Golden Globe winner as a writer and producer of Sexand the City), Elisa Zuritsky, and Julie Rottenberg (Emmy nominated) have collaborated on a project. Fortunately their newest venture, Cedar City Falls, showcases what the four talents do best: bring juicy, comedic soap opera to life in a series of weekly episodes that will be presented live by the LAByrinth Theater Company at the Cell Theater beginning October 6 for four weeks (through October 27) and at Galapagos Art Space in Brooklyn for a final four weeks (November 4 - 24).

Previews began on Tuesday, September 29, 2009 for the first ever Broadway production of OLEANNA, the provocative drama by Pulitzer Prize winner David Mamet. Starring Bill Pullman and Julia Stiles and directed by Tony Award winner Doug Hughes (Doubt), the play is a gripping account of a power struggle between a male university professor and one of his female students. The Broadway production celebrated Opening Night on Sunday, October 11 at at The Golden Theatre and BroadwayWorld.com's cameras were there.
George S. Kaufman and Edna Ferber's 'The Royal Family' officially opened on Thursday, October 8th at MTC's Samuel J. Friedman Theatre (261 West 47th Street). The production is directed by Tony Award winner Doug Hughes. Lynne Meadow (Artistic Director) and Barry Grove (Executive Producer) are presenting the production for their acclaimed Manhattan Theatre Club.

Pop superstar Justin Timberlake may be headed to the silver screen in Guy Richie's upcoming remake of GUYS AND DOLLS. The performer is said to have agreed to star in one of Richie's new films, and the pair 'shook hands over a whisky at the Punch Bowl pub in Mayfair' to confirm the arrangement, reports Britain's The Sun.
Mary Tyler Moore and Bernadette Peters will host the eleventh annual BROADWAY BARKS!, a star-studded dog and cat adopt-a-thon benefiting New York City animal shelters and adoption agencies. The event, produced by Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS and sponsored by the ASPCA and PEDIGREE® with additional sponsorship by the New York Times will take place on Saturday, July 11h in Shubert Alley (located between 44th and 45th Streets, between Broadway and Eighth Avenue). The festivities begin at 3:30 p.m.; celebrity presentations of pets from citywide animal shelters will take place between 5:30 - 6:30 p.m.
Guys and Dolls will close on Broadway on June 14th, the show will have played 28 previews and 113 performances. Guys and Dolls stars Oliver Platt ('Nathan Detroit'), Lauren Graham ('Miss Adelaide'), Craig Bierko ('Sky Masterson') and Kate Jennings Grant ('Sarah Brown'). The first joint Broadway project by two-time Tony Award winning director Des McAnuff and choreographer Sergio Trujillo since their collaboration on the Tony Award winning musical Jersey Boys, Guys and Dolls began previews on February 5th, 2009 at Broadway's newly refurbished Nederlander Theatre (208 West 41st Street). The American Theatre Wing presented its annual spring gala, last night, Monday, June 1, 2009 at Cipriani 42nd Street (110 East 42nd Street). As in years past, the American Theatre Wing Spring Gala will brought together the best of Broadway. Tony Award winner Hugh Jackman served as the evening's Honorary Chair and Mrs. Schuyler G. Chapin, Lucia Hwong Gordon and Anthony D. Leeds served as Gala Co-Chairs.
The entertainment portion of the evening was produced by Class Productions and directed by Lauren Class Schneider. All proceeds benefit the education and outreach programs of the American Theatre Wing.
