The world premiere of 'The Nether,' a new play by Jennifer Haley that explores the moral complexity of our increasingly virtual existence, opened at Center Theatre Group's Kirk Douglas Theatre on Sunday, March 24. Live From Lincoln Center presents the New York Philharmonic's production of Rodgers & Hammerstein's iconic American musical, Carousel, featuring a star-studded cast including Kelli O'Hara, Nathan Gunn, Stephanie Blythe, Shuler Hensley, Jason Danieley, Jessie Mueller, Kate Burton, John Cullum and New York City Ballet dancers Robert Fairchild and Tiler Peck. "Rodgers & Hammerstein's Carousel" is hosted by Audra McDonald and will air on PBS stations on Friday, April 26, 2013 at 9 p.m. (ET) (check local listings).

Huntington Theatre Company in association with Jonathan Reinis Productions and WGBH present the hit public-radio series and podcast Selected Shorts on Tour: "Tales of Springtime, Sex & Baseball" at the Boston University Theatre June 8 at 4pm and 8pm. Tony Award nominee and Emmy Award winner Kate Burton ("Grey's Anatomy," The Cherry Orchard, and the upcoming The Seagull at the Huntington), Emmy Award nominee and Tony Award winner Denis O'Hare ("True Blood" and "American Horror Story"), and Academy Award nominee Amy Ryan (Gone Baby Gone) perform powerful, surprising, romantic, and funny stories by comic master Dorothy Parker, baseball writer W. Co-founder and artistic director of Bay Street Theatre Sybil Christopher passed away on Saturday, March 9, 2013, according to an announcement by the theatre's website. She was 83. Christopher served as artistic director at Bay Street for nearly 22 years until 2012, when she stepped down.

Artistic Director Jenny Gersten announced at a press conference in Williamstown today the roster of Main Stage and Nikos Stage productions for the 2013 Williamstown Theatre Festival (WTF) Season, the Festival's 59th season and third under Ms. Gersten's leadership.

Bucks County Playhouse has announced that Charles Busch's Tony Nominated play The Tale of the Allergist's Wife, directed by four-time Tony Award winner Boyd Gaines will be the final production of the 2013 Summer season. Performances run from Thursday, August 15th through Sunday, September 1st at the Bucks County Playhouse (70 South Main Street in New Hope, PA). The cast will be announced shortly.

Now, in the tradition of its sold-out productions of Company and My Fair Lady, the Philharmonic and an all-star cast present Rodgers and Hammerstein's immortal Carousel, directed by Tony winner John Rando, and conducted by Rob Fisher.

The New York Philharmonic has announced that New York City Ballet principal dancers Robert Fairchild and Tiler Peck will perform in the staged production of Rodgers & Hammerstein's Carousel, February 27-March 2, 2013. Robert Fairchild will portray the Carnival Boy, and Tiler Peck will portray Louise. With original choreography by Warren Carlyle, Mr. Fairchild and Ms. Peck will dance the pas de deux ballet in Act II. Reflecting this production's focus on Carousel's music, the ballet will be the sole fully choreographed scene. These performances mark Warren Carlyle's first time choreographing Mr. Fairchild and Ms. Peck, and represent Mr. Carlyle, Mr. Fairchild, and Ms. Peck's Philharmonic debuts. Mr. Fairchild and Ms. Peck are appearing courtesy of the New York City Ballet.

In honor of comedy legend Carl Reiner's 75 years in the business, Center Theatre Group presented a staged reading of 'Enter Laughing, The Musical,' which is inspired by Reiner's experiences as a young man struggling to break into theatre in New York. The one night only event directed by Stuart Ross ('Forever Plaid'), was performed at the Mark Taper Forum on Monday, January 28, 2013.

The New York Philharmonic has announced several additions to the cast of its production of Rodgers & Hammerstein's Carousel, February 27-March 2, 2013: Shuler Hensley will portray Jigger Craigin, Jason Danieley will portray Enoch Snow (replacing the previously announced Alexander Gemignani, who has withdrawn due to scheduling conflicts), Jessie Mueller will portray Carrie Pipperidge, Kate Burton will portray Mrs. Mullin, and John Cullum will portray Starkeeper/Dr. Seldon. As previously announced, Carousel will star Kelli O'Hara as Julie Jordan, Nathan Gunn as Billy Bigelow, and Stephanie Blythe as Nettie Fowler. The production will be directed by John Rando, conducted by Rob Fisher, and choreographed by Warren Carlyle. The production's cast and creative team have earned a combined total of 16 Tony Awards and 32 Tony nominations.
