Move over Grinch; Santa Claus is coming to town and taking up residence at Rubicon Theatre in Ventura! Rubicon's November/ December HOLIDAY CENTRAL calendar offers a sparkling array of more than 35 shows and events for all ages. The festivities begin with the return of a holiday revue with six Broadway singers and a local children's chorus; followed by a late-night adult comedy presented in a cabaret setting; a poetic reading of wartime love letters; and culminating with an enchanting new musical from the Tony and Olivier Award-winning director of Les Miserables and Nicholas Nickleby and the creators of Jane Eyre and Daddy Long Legs, who will have a five-week residency at Rubicon during the holidays.

ROBERT E. LEE - SHADES OF GRAY, opens at Rubicon on Saturday, September 7 at 7:00 p.m. and closes on Sunday, September 29 at 2:00 p.m., with low-priced previews starting Wednesday, September 4 at 7:00 p.m. Performances are Wednesdays through Sundays at Rubicon Theatre Company, 1006 E. The stellar cast includes Joan Almedilla, Teri Bibb, Dina Bennett, Trey Ellett, Anthony Manough and Brian Sutherland, who have starred on Broadway in such shows as Phantom of the Opera, The Lion King, Jesus Christ Superstar, Miss Saigon, 1776 and Rent, among others. In keeping with Rubicon Theatre's new "Our Town/Your Theatre" initiative, the company is partnering with several local businesses to host special nights at the theatre during performances of La Razon Blindada, the critically acclaimed drama written and directed by Aristides Vargas, which continues through November 11 at Rubicon's home in Ventura's Downtown Cultural District.

Rubicon Theatre Artistic Directors KARYL LYNN BURNS and JAMES O'NEIL announced the company's 15th Anniversary Season at a preview event for subscribers, donors and media last earlier this month at the theatre's home in Ventura's Downtown Cultural District. Rubicon Theatre Company's Producing Artistic Director Karyl Lynn Burns announces the next performance in the company's Broadway Cabaret Benefit Series, which takes place tonight, June 11 at 7:00 p.m. Ovation and NAACP Award-winner Daniel Tatar kicks off the evening with solo renditions of Broadway hits and contemporary favorites. Following intermission, Tatar will be joined by other members of the singing group The Company Men, who will mash the hits of six decades in tight four-part harmonies with choreography.
