Oh my! It's been a hell of a year for the Seattle Theatre scene and I can say we've been quite fortunate to see the incredible shows we have. So many amazing shows in fact that picking just a few stand outs (let alone a "best") is a near impossibility. But I have searched the deep dark recesses of my memory to find the shows and performances that really stood out and stuck with me beyond the evening and throughout the year. The new Broadway revival of On The Town was recorded in November 2014 for a two-disc cast album to be released by PS Classics. After announcing a previous date for January 20, the label's website now lists a March 3 release.
The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts just wrapped up the world premiere musical production Little Dancer in November, and according to the New York Times, the show will continue life on the west coast.

The production will feature costumes by the legendary Catherine Zuber, who recently shared some of her designs with the New York Times. She told NYT: "It's not really historically accurate. Everything is pumped-up or streamlined," she said. "It had to feel relevant to an audience, like something they could imagine wearing."
