Two River Theater Company announces 'Crossing Borders,' a four-day festival of plays written by Mexican-American playwrights, as well as music and conversations.

On Wednesday, June 1, Clubbed Thumb celebrated its upcoming 16th annual festival of new plays, SUMMERWORKS 2011, at HERE Arts Center (145 6th Avenue) with EXQUISITE CORPSE, a special evening of short plays by Mary Hamilton, Nick Jones, Jon Kern, Michael Mitnick, Megan Mostyn-Brown, Kim Rosenstock and Susan Soon He Stanton.

Erasing the Distance (ETD) proudly presents STRONGER THAN SILENCE: surviving our secrets. In this one-night-only theatrical event, four professional actors give voice to true stories of survivors of sexual violence, sharing perspectives on hope, healing, and forgiveness.

Artistic Director Marc Masterson and Managing Director Jennifer Bielstein are pleased to announce Actors Theatre's 48th season lineup. 'The 2011-2012 upcoming Brown-Forman series is an exciting multi-faceted program which includes the staging of two classic novels; a heartwarming and honest exploration of the personal impact of war; a three-time Tony Award-nominated play about love, longing, and science, and the regional premiere of an Off-Broadway hit. Plus, an exciting line up of new plays in the 36th Annual Humana Festival and the return of three holiday favorites', said Masterson on his final season selection as Artistic Director of Actors Theatre. 'Actors Theatre has a fantastic team of staff with whom I have worked with for many years and in whose experience and incredible expertise I have confidence to successfully realize my final season.'

This year, Orlando Shakes welcomes former local resident and PlayFest veteran, playwright Mark Brown (Around the World in 80 Days, The Trial of Ebenezer Scrooge, and China - The Whole Enchilada) back to the Margeson Stage for an Inside the Actor's Studio style conversation with Orlando Shakes Artistic Director Jim Helsinger on Friday, April 8, 2011. Mr. Brown's new play, Don Quixote - The Reckoning will be presented as one of two workshops during PlayFest.
