2017 Bard Music Festival to Explore CHOPIN AND HIS WORLD

Parisian culture, Polish politics, and the piano are the focus of this summer's annual Bard SummerScape festival, with seven weeks of music, opera, theater, dance, film, and cabaret keyed to the theme of the 28th Bard Music Festival, 'Chopin and His World.'

The Kennedy Center Presents the Return of BALLET ACROSS AMERICA Series in April

Celebrating innovation and diversity in American ballet, the Kennedy Center presents the return of its weeklong Ballet Across America series, April 17 and April 19-23, for seven performances in the Opera House. Last seen in 2013, and illustrating the most exciting, creative dance happening across America today, this season's engagement explores new directions in the art form through programs curated by two of the biggest superstars in the ballet world: dancer-choreographer Justin Peck and principal dancer Misty Copeland.

Russell Janzen and More Promoted at New York City Ballet

New York City Ballet announced today the promotion of eight of the Company's dancers. Soloist Russell Janzen has been promoted to the rank of principal dancer, and corps de ballet members Sara Adams, Harrison Ball, Emilie Gerrity, Joseph Gordon, Unity Phelan, Troy Schumacher, and Indiana Woodward have been promoted to Soloist.

Boston Ballet Announces 2017-2018 Season

Boston Ballet Artistic Director Mikko Nissinen announces the programming for the 2017-2018 season at the Boston Opera House, to begin in November. The 54th season will open with the North American premiere of Wayne McGregor's "forcefully resonant" Obsidian Tear (Roslyn Sulcas, The New York Times), a co-production with The Royal Ballet.

Lincoln Center Announces '30 Days for $30' Lottery for Classical, Jazz and Dance Performances

Lincoln Center announced today '30 Days for $30,' a new initiative offering greater access to performances for 30 days between February 1 and March 4, 2017. Via an online lottery hosted by Jujamcyn Theaters, Lincoln Center and many of its resident organizations will make prime seats available for only $30 to a wide swath of productions across the campus.

Cincinnati Ballet has been invited to present seven performances of The Nutcracker at the famed John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, D.C., November 23 through 27, with the Kennedy Center Opera House Orchestra performing Tchaikovsky's sensational holiday score.

Cincinnati Ballet Debuts THE NUTCRACKER at the Kennedy Center, 11/23-27

Cincinnati Ballet marks its full company debut at the Kennedy Center with Victoria Morgan's charming production of The Nutcracker, November 23-27 for seven performances in the Opera House. A cherished holiday tradition that has become an annual Cincinnati-area favorite, this production features elaborate scenic design by John Ezell, whimsical stage effects with lighting by Trad A Burns, vibrant costumes by Carrie Robbins, awe-inspiring acrobatics, and entrancing choreography by Artistic Director and CEO Victoria Morgan. Morgan, who is celebrating her 20th season with the company, is also one of very few female Artistic Directors in the ballet world. Following tradition, dozens of local children from the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area will join the company on stage, while the Arlington Children's Chorus lend their voices to the dazzling snow scene. The Kennedy Center Opera House Orchestra will accompany this production, led by conductor and Cincinnati Ballet Music Director Carmon DeLeone.

Works & Process at the Guggenheim announces The World Premiere of WORKING IN PROCESS/ NEW BODIES

On Sunday, November 13, 2016 at 3pm and 7:30pm and Monday, November 14, 2016 at 7:30pm, Works & Process at the Guggenheim presents Working in Process/ New Bodies, the culmination and World Premiere of choreographer Jodi Melnick's Works & Process residency with dancers Sara Mearns, Jared Angle, and Gretchen Smith at the Guggenheim's Frank Lloyd Wright-designed Peter B. Lewis Theater. Melnick's work weaves dance, spoken text, and moderated discussion with Claudia La Rocco, with live music for harpsichord by composer Gyorgy Ligeti, violin by composer Heinrich Biber, and newly commissioned music by Robert Boston.
