As "the world's most creatively prodigious ballet troupe" (The New York Times), each winter the NYC Ballet honors their mission in a program featuring a new work. This season they feature two premieres alongside a vibrant Peter Martins ballet.

The Shimmering Asphalt receives its World Premiere on January 26, 2017. Choreography by: Pontus Lidberg and music by: David Lang. A critically lauded choreographer and filmmaker hailing from Sweden, Pontus Lidberg often focuses on emotionally complex and psychological relationships, and Winter 2017 will see his first premiere for the Company, set to a commissioned score by David Lang.

New Peck (Deacon) has choreography by: Justin Peck and music by: Dan Deacon. Both performances run through January 28, 2017.

Taking a cue from Founding Choreographer Jerome Robbins, Peck's Winter 2017 premiere will have his dancers trading their pointe shoes in for sneakers.
