Cliff Goodwin, program director of New Dramatists into the 1970s, has passed away.

Abingdon Theatre Company - the producer of over 77 new American plays during its 20-year history - launches its new family theatre program, the POP UP PLAYHOUSE with a one-time special concert by MyKaZoo/Universal Music recording artist Barry G along with Erin the Red of the acclaimed Dream Jam Band. The live concert featuring songs from Barry G's brand new family album, 'Huh Uh,' as well as some earlier favorites, will kick-off the POP UP PLAYHOUSE season on Saturday, November 10 at 11am in Abingdon Theatre Company's June Havoc Theatre (312 West 36th Street).

The West Fargo High School (WFHS) Theatre begins its theatre season with the Midwest regional premiere of MARATHON '33 (M33). This new version of June Havoc's original 1964 script has been co-adapted and written by Broadway veterans Tome Cousin and Peter Gregus. MARATHON '33 (M33) performs November 9th & 10th at 7:30pm and November 11th at 2:30pm in the WFHS auditorium.

ELR Productions, LLC will present the Off-Broadway premiere of THE AUSTERITY OF HOPE, a new drama by Dan Fingerman about gay relationships set to the backdrop of the 2008 Obama campaign, with previews beginning Friday, October 19th on the mainstage at the Abingdon Theatre Arts Complex, 312 West 36th street. Lookingglass Theatre Company will open its 25th Anniversary Season with Metamorphoses, based on the Myths of Ovid, written and directed by Lookingglass Ensemble Member Mary Zimmerman. The show will play tonight, September 19 - September 28, 2012. The return of Lookingglass' seminal production, coinciding with the 10th Anniversary of the Broadway run, will open at Lookingglass in the fall of 2012 and will then move to Washington D.C.'s Arena Stage.

Spookfish Theatre Company will present the world premiere of Pornography for the People, a new political drama by Ming Peiffer about sex, surveillance and censorship, today, August 26, 2012 through Friday, September 2, 2012 - at the Theatre for the New City, (155 1st Avenue, NYC). The production is part of the Dream Up Festival: Theater For The New City's Summer Showcase. Directed by Kat Yen.
