On October 24th through the 27th, MADCAP Comedy and Improv Troupe presented the John Bishop farce The Musical Comedy Murders of 1940 at Newman University's Jabara Flexible Theatre. Under executive artistic director Cameron Carlson and wife Lana, the show was a night of pre-war, German societal commentary and comedy amid a mysterious murder mystery in a Chappaqua, New York City mansion setting. Starring Vonda Newby-Schuster, Mark Barlow, Mary Lou Phipps-Winfrey, Crystal Meek, and Steve Dunn among many others, the show was a perfect selection for tying into their previous show Hounds of Baskerville and for what was Halloween weekend in Wichita.

Spear-headed and founded by local actor Cameron Carlson, this was the first production for the troupe specially arranged by Samuel French, Incorporated.

The National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences (NATAS) today announced the nominees for the 45th Annual Daytime Emmy® Awards. The ceremony will be held at the Pasadena Civic Auditorium on Sunday, April 29, 2018 hosted by Mario Lopez, host and star of the Emmy award-winning syndicated entertainment news show, Extra, and Sheryl Underwood, one of the hosts of the Emmy award-winning, CBS Daytime program, The Talk. The Daytime Creative Arts Emmy Awards will also be held at the Pasadena Civic Auditorium on Friday, April 27, 2018. Lilly Diabetes today announced the global expansion of its innovative collaboration with Disney Publishing Worldwide (DPW), which expands the program internationally based on the success of the initiative in the U.S., which began in 2011. The goal of the program is to bring thoughtful educational resources to families of children with diabetes, including a series of custom books co-created by Lilly Diabetes and DPW for children of various ages and stages of life who are living with type 1 diabetes. The books, available through diabetes healthcare professionals, will initially be translated and available in 18 countries.
