BETHANY Kicks Off Women's Project's 2012-13 Season at New York City Center Stage II

Women's Project, the 35-year-old non-profit theater dedicated to producing plays written and directed by women, will present its 2012-2013 season of new plays featuring women theater artists at a new home, New York City Center Stage II, 131 West 55th Street, January 11 to May 19, Julie Crosby, Producing Artistic Director announced.

Women's Project Presents World Premiere of WE PLAY FOR THE GODS, Now thru 6/23

Women's Project will end its 34th season with an off-Broadway show of epic proportions when seven playwrights, four directors, three producers and five actors collaborate on one world premiere play titled from the famous Ellen Stewart quote We Play for The Gods. We Play for The Gods stars Annie Golden, Amber Gray, Alexandra Henrikson, Irene Sofia Lucio and Erika Rolfsud. It opens tonight, June 11, at 7:30pm for a run through Saturday, June 23, at the Cherry Lane Theatre, 38 Commerce Street.

BERNICE BOBS HER MULLET Writer Joe Major Forfeits Profits, Makes Available to Local Theatres

For the first time in the history of the art form, a musical comedy with an Off-Broadway house on it's resumé is now being independently licensed to the general public at no cost to company producers. Songwriter and librettist Joe Major recently announced that he is forfeiting his share of any profits accrued from all amateur productions of his award-winning musical, Bernice Bobs Her Mullet; effective immediately. A former licensing representative for Samuel French, Inc., Major says he will now authorize the performance rights of his own musical to any community theater companies, non-profit organizations or scholastic institutions for free with no restrictions on length of run, number of seats or ticket prices.

Warner Theatre Presents Premiere of LIBERTY, 6/20-7/14

The Warner Theatre (John Bonanni, Executive Director) by special arrangement with Theresa Wozunk will present the world premiere of LIBERTY A Monumental New Musical- with book and lyrics by Dana Leslie Goldstein and music by Jon Goldstein. Directed by Igor Goldin, performances of LIBERTY A Monumental New Musical begin June 30th, 2012 and continue through July 14th at the Warner Theatre in Torrington, Connecticut.

League of Pro Theatre Women Celebrates Women Bloggers this Week

The League of Professional Theatre Women, celebrating its 30th anniversary in 2012 with Turning 30: Celebrating Our Legacy, Creating Our Future, is running a special Pioneer's Week of Blog30, the LPTW blog highlighting the energy & accomplishments of its 400+ members, this week, March 26 to April 1. The Actors Studio Drama School at Pace University Announces 2012 Season

The 2012 Actors Studio Drama School Repertory Season performances will take place at The Theater at Dance New Amsterdam, 53 Chambers St., just north of City Hall, Wednesdays through Fridays at 8 p.m. and Saturdays at 3 and 8 p.m. from March 28 through April 28.
