Multi-award winning Gaelic singer and instrumentalist, Julie Fowlis, will perform “Music of the Scottish Isles” at the Ware Center on Thursday, October 15 at 7:30 PM. Widely recognized for her intoxicating and lucid voice, Julie Fowlis is probably best known for singing the theme song in Disney Pixar's “Brave.” An artist with a genuine curiosity to explore other traditions and a natural ability to cross genres, Julie has collaborated, recorded and performed with artists such as violin virtuoso Nicola Benedetti, and acclaimed singers Aled Jones, Grammy-Award winning James Taylor, and Mary Chapin Carpenter. Returning from The Ware Center's first season, the four piece, gypsy band Caravan of Thieves will perform in the atrium at the Ware Center on Saturday, October 3, 2015 at 7:30 PM. Acoustic guitars along with upright bass and violin lay the foundation for this musically intense show, and spectators are encouraged to sing, snap, and clap along to the driving gypsy rhythms and humorous, theatrical performances that Caravan of Thieves have become so known for. The Arts at Millersville's Fifth Season, along with the inaugural new Popular Music Series of Lancaster Symphony Orchestra (LSO), will kick off with a performance for classical and popular music lovers alike, Hollywood Heroes and Villains. This family-friendly, full orchestra performance is a tribute to Hollywood's greatest composers with new and old music favorites from The Hobbit, The Wizard of Oz, Frozen, Star Wars, and Batman. Kids are encouraged to come in costume as their favorite hero or villain and participate in a fun, indoor parade at the start of the show. Plus, feel like a star when you step into a Hollywood-themed photo booth by PhotOle Photography to capture the fun of the evening.

The 60-minute suite, composed for 10 musicians, is set around Milne's genre-bending quintet, Dapp Theory, and special guests. 'The Seasons of Being' is a collection of musical compositions that reflect Milne's positive personal experiences with classical homeopathic healing. This ambitious project utilizes Milne's model for identifying human behavioral patterns (pathologies) through understanding how one's subconscious preferences for music or sound are connected to their pathology. 'The Seasons of Being' was awarded Chamber Music America's New Jazz Works Commission and is funded by The Doris Duke Foundation. Red Rose City Chorus will perform "Adventure on the High Cs", the story of an ordinary vacation cruise that turns into the biggest adventure the singers have ever experienced! The show will also feature special guest chorus, Parkside Harmony. Adams, demonstrates 'Thinking Local' in every aspect of bringing his two one-act plays to life on the Ware Center stage tonight, September 4 at 7:30 pm in downtown Lancaster. 'Two to Move You' is two one act plays including 'Bound' which reveals how three neighbors discover the common experiences that have unexpectedly bound them, and followed by 'I'm Still Here' a one-woman drama featuring actor, Anne Meeder, telling the story of Julie Jennings' personal grit and survival after several life setbacks.
