International theatre producer David King is delighted to announce that the singer-songwriter, actor and winner of hit TV shows Dancing On Ice, Dancing on Ice - All Stars, Ray Quinn, will be joining the UK Tour of JUDY - THE SONGBOOK OF JUDY GARLAND.

Grammy® nominated singer Jane Monheit, known for her smooth vocals and sincere interpretations, returns to Segerstrom Center in a program paying tribute to one of her musical idols, the legendary Judy Garland this weekend, March 13 & 14 in Samueli Theater.

The Boy from Oz runs through March 29, 2015, on the Lohrey Stage at Theatre Memphis. Touted as one of the national premieres on its return to the United States, this 'life of' musical tells the story of Peter Allen's rise from an intro act forJudy Garland, to his marriage to her daughter, Liza Minnelli, through his triumph as an Oscar-winning song writer and Radio City Music Hall concert star and his untimely death. Featuring the original songs made popular in night clubs and on tours, memorable hits as 'Don't Cry Out Loud,' 'Love Don't Need a Reason,' 'Everything Old is New Again' and 'I Go to Rio' are included In this all out extravaganza.

When Kathryn Allyn, an opera singer now turned Great American Songbook chanteuse, took the stage at The Cutting Room last Tuesday night, she was all va-va-voom in a curve-hugging Valentine red dress. When I first heard that Peter Quilter's End of the Rainbow, the story of the demise of Judy Garland during her gig in December, 1968 at Talk of the Town, London, was going to be produced at ICT, Long Beach, I remember thinking 'They'd better get a super dynamic actress. Not everyone can play Judy Garland!' Whether you believe that the events that happen onstage really did occur seems irrelevant in ICT's production; what is all wrong is the casting. Unfortunately, Gigi Bermingham, a fine actress/singer, just does not make the cut. Within five minutes of her first entrance, I saw a woman playing an actress/singer with emotional problems, but that woman might as well be herself; it is not Judy Garland.

International City Theatre kicks off its 30th Anniversary Season with a tour de force musical drama about the final days of Judy Garland. End of the Rainbow by Peter Quilter opens Feb. 20, directed by John Henry Davis (ICT'sTrying) and starring Gigi Bermingham (Ovation Award-winner for her performance as Maria Callas in ICT's Master Class) in the role of the legendary singer.
