DRG Records Set to Release Recording of Jane Krakowski: Live at Feinstein's, 3/23

DRG Records is releasing a recording of Jane Krakowski's nightclub debut at Feinstein's at Loews Regency. The recording is set to be released on March 23 and will be available in all major online and retail outlets. The show, which played the famed Fienstein's at Lowes Regency from October 6 through October 17, featured songs popularized by female performers who have inspired her such as Anita O'Day, Ann-Margret and Eartha Kitt.

Lee Mead and Denise Van Outen Expecting a Child

Published reports are saying actor Lee Mead and Denise Van Outen are expecting a child. After meeting on the hit reality show 'Any Dream Will Do,' a contest Mead won, Mead and Van Outen began a relationship and married in April of 2009. Reportedly, the pair is thrilled about the news, with Van Outen quoted as saying 'I look at him and know he'd make a great father. Our kids will have so much curly hair!'

Hicks, Goodfriend to Star in Repertory Theatre's SLEUTH 10/14-11/8

The Tony Award winning play ‘Sleuth' will be staged at the Repertory Theatre in St. Louis, beginnig October 14. Munson Hicks will star as Andrew Wyke, with Michael Gabriel Goodfriend as Milo Tindle, Stanley Rushton as Inspector Doppler, Robin Mayfield as Det. Sgt. Tarrant and Liam McNulty as P.C. Higgs. Michael Evan Haney directs the thriller that runs through Nov. 8 at the Loretto Hilton Center.

'Season Your Admiration' HAMLET Recoups on Broadway

The Donmar Warehouse production of Hamlet, starring Jude Law and directed by Michael Grandage, has fully recouped its $2.5 million capitalization costs as of the week ending November 1, officially entering the hit column. The production, which began performances on September 12 and opened October 6, is playing a limited run through Sunday, December 6 only at the Broadhurst Theatre (235 West 44th Street).

Ambassador Theatre Group Buys Live Nation's UK Theatres

Ambassador Theatre Group (ATG) today confirmed that it had completed the purchase of Live Nation's UK Theatres (excluding their one third share of The Dominion Theatre). The acquisition is the most significant development in ATG's 17 year history.

Schreiber and Johansson Set for A VIEW FROM THE BRIDGE

Tony® Award-winner Liev Schreiber and Golden Globe nominee Scarlett Johansson, in her Broadway debut, will star in Arthur Miller's A VIEW FROM THE BRIDGE directed by Gregory Mosher on Broadway at the Cort Theatre (138 West 48th Street). Performances begin Monday, December 28, 2009 and the official opening is Sunday, January 24, 2010. The limited engagement will run for 14 weeks only.

The Donmar Warehouse Featured in The New York Times

The Donmar Warehouse (producer of the current Broadway production of Hamlet starring Jude Law) announced that its yearlong West End season at the 750-seat Wyndham's Theater played to 98% of capacity. The Donmar is also making quite the mark on the Broadway stage with a number of current productions this season.

Con O'Neill to Replace Matt Lucas in PRICK UP YOUR EARS, 10/22

Whatsonstage.com has confirmed that actor Con O'Neill will take over Matt Lucas' role of Kenneth Halliwell in the West End production of Simon Bent's Prick Up Your Ears at the Comedy Theatre on October 22. He will replace Matt Lucas, who left the production last week in the wake of the suicide of his ex-partner, Kevin McGee, as previously reported.

NY Times on Broadway's Economic Outlook; 39 Steps to Consider Off-Bway Move

With all of the recent talk of Broadway's seeming immunity to the economic downturn as it continues to enjoy a banner season with some its highest grosses in recent history, the New York Times points out in an article today that it cannot be overlooked that the pretty numbers peppering the gross charts are due in large to a small handful of starry shows carrying most of the weight. A Steady Rain starring heavyweights Hugh Jackman and Daniel Craig, God of Carnage starring Jeff Daniels, Hope Davis, James Gandolfini and Marcia Gay Harden, and Hamlet featuring Jude Law are among the shows skewing the outlook, according to the times, as their unprecedented box office revenues rival those of the monster musical hits Wicked, Jersey Boys, and Billy Elliott.
