The performance will be broadcast as part of the ceremony on CBS. Casts from some of Broadway's hottest tickets will take the stage at the Tony Awards this year - including the cast of Priscilla Queen of the Desert featuring Nick Adams, Tony Sheldon, Will Swenson and special appearances by Paul Shaffer and the legendary Martha Wash. BroadwayWorld has learned that the men of Priscilla will be taking the stage with Wash for a rendition of 'It's Raining Men,' a number written by Paul Shaffer and originally performed by Martha Wash. Yesterday, May 15, the 2011 Fred and Adele Astaire Awards were held at the Skirball Center for the Performing Arts at NYU. The Fred & Adele Astaire Awards afe the only awards to recognize excellence in dance & choreography on Broadway and in film. On hand to celebrate were some of Broadway and film's greatest talents including Daniel Radcliffe, Benjamin Millepied, Sutton Foster, Christie Brinkley, Bebe Neuwirth, Lee Roy Reams, Ava Astaire, Norbert Leo Butz, Aaron Tveit, Len Cariou, Brian Stokes Mitchell, Bill Irwin, Maurice Hines, Christine Andreas, Karen Ziemba, Nick Adams, Kathleen Marshall, Desmond Richardson, Young Dancers from the National Dance Institute, Douglas Watt Lifetime Achievement Award recipient Jacques d'Amboise and more.

The New York Times suggests today that after a widly successful industry presentation in New York on Sunday, the American Repertory Theater's production of Porgy and Bess, starring Audra McDonald, Norm Lewis, David ALan Grier, and Joshua Henry, may be headed to Broadway as early as next season. The production of the Gershwin classic, will open A.R.T.'s 2011-2 season on August 14 at the Loeb Drama Center. Porgy and Bess is written by George Gershwin, DuBose and Dorothy Heyward, and Ira Gershwin, is adapted by Suzan-Lori Parks and Diedre Murray, and will be directed by A.R.T. Artistic Director Diane Paulus (Hair).

Patricia Watt, Executive Producer of the 2011 Fred & Adele Astaire Awards, has announced the first group of Presenters for the 29th Annual Fred & Adele Astaire Awards, In addition to Len Cariou and Brian Stokes Mitchell who will co-present the Douglas Watt Lifetime Achievement Award to legendary, dancer, choreographer, teacher and star of stage, film and television Jacques D'Amboise, additional presenters include Bill Irwin, Maurice Hines, Christine Andreas, Charlotte D'amboise, Christopher D'amboise and Karen Ziemba.
