The New York Musical Theatre Festival (NYMF) celebrates its fifth year with 24 full productions, a dance series, a developmental series, concerts and special events.

TONY AWARD nominee SALLY MAYES and TARZAN's JOSH STRICKLAND will star in a new jazz musical 'PLAY IT COOL' at The New York Musical Theatre Festival from September 22 to October 4 at TBG Theatre, 312 West 36th Street.

On Wednesday, April 16th Disney Theatrical Productions (Thomas Schumacher, producer) presented a cabaret featuring the songs of composer Alan Menken. The evening featured performances by Disney on Broadway stars Sierra Boggess (The Little Mermaid), Ashley Brown (Mary Poppins), Sean Palmer (The Little Mermaid), Josh Strickland (Tarzan) and Alan Menken himself. THE AFTER PARTY, which has been nominated for a 2008 MAC Award for Variety Production/Recurring Series on Friday, April 11th, 2008 presented Drama Desk Award Nominee and star of Mamma Mia, Judy McLane. Alos featured were Lavinia Draper and a special appearance by Mamma Mia's Carey Anderson

And they brought along all their Broadway-loving friends for another successful and entertaining Broadway Bears auction, presented by Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS! To the thrill of bear and fan-boy alike, the 11th Annual event raised over $127,000! Top winners were 'Cyrano de Bergerac,' 'The Lion King' and 'Spamalot.'

Each year, 'Broadway Bears: A Costumed Teddy Bear Auction' is a much-anticipated BC/EFA event. These specially-designed bears (often using actual material from their respective Broadway productions, and autographed by the stars) raised $130,000 last year.
