MCC THEATER has announced that indie film star Greta Gerwig will now be joined by Max Baker, Jason Butler Harner, Lucy Owen, Cara Seymour, and Scott Shepherd in the American premiere of Penelope Skinner's celebrated play The Village Bike, the final production of MCC's 2013-14 Main Stage season. This completes casting. The Village Bike-which begins rehearsals today-will be directed by Sam Gold, who recently directed the much-raved new musical Fun Home and this season's The Realistic Jones on Broadway. The Village Bike will premiere at The Lucille Lortel Theatre(121 Christopher Street, NYC) beginning May 22, 2014 with an official opening on June 10, 2014. The Alumnae Theatre Company will present the first annual FireWorks Series. This is a brand new effort by the Company to showcase its homegrown talent in a further development beyond the very popular New Ideas Festival. Three full-length plays developed in-house will be staged in the Alumnae Studio Theatre from November 13 to December 1, 2013, and supporting events will allow audience members to engage with the dramaturgical process and intellectual themes.

ARC Entertainment recently acquired all North American rights to the family film STANDING UP, based on the award-winning young adult novel by Brock Cole, The Goats. Starring Chandler Canterbury (The Curious Case of Benjamin Button), Annalise Basso (Bedtime Stories) and Val Kilmer (Kiss Kiss Bang Bang, Top Gun), the film was written and directed by D.J. Caruso. The film is set to hit theaters on Aug. 16, will be availabe exclusively at Wal Mart on DVD beginning Aug. 20, as well as VOD.

BIG SUR is an upcoming drama based on the life of journalist Jack Kerouac. Michael Polish directed and wrote the script for the film starring Jean-Marc Barr, Josh Lucas and Kate Bosworth.
