Montblanc presented the 13th annual performance of The 24 Hour Plays on Broadway earlier this week. An annual benefit event produced by the 24 Hour Company and Freestyle Picture Company for Urban Arts Partnership, The 24 Hour Plays on Broadway attracts some of entertainment's biggest names as they join forces to participate in an extreme rite of theater: writing, directing, and performing 6 original short plays, all in just 24 hours. The Alumnae Theatre Company will present the first annual FireWorks Series. This is a brand new effort by the Company to showcase its homegrown talent in a further development beyond the very popular New Ideas Festival. Three full-length plays developed in-house will be staged in the Alumnae Studio Theatre from November 13 to December 1, 2013, and supporting events will allow audience members to engage with the dramaturgical process and intellectual themes.

Only Make Believe's 14th Annual Gala, 'Make Believe On Broadway', honoring Susan Sarandon and Dr. Alex Karp, was held last night, November 4 at the Bernard B. Jacobs Theater. ARC Entertainment recently acquired all North American rights to the family film STANDING UP, based on the award-winning young adult novel by Brock Cole, The Goats. Starring Chandler Canterbury (The Curious Case of Benjamin Button), Annalise Basso (Bedtime Stories) and Val Kilmer (Kiss Kiss Bang Bang, Top Gun), the film was written and directed by D.J. Caruso. The film is set to hit theaters on Aug. 16, will be availabe exclusively at Wal Mart on DVD beginning Aug. 20, as well as VOD.

Hallmark Channel announced today the launch of "Walmart and P&G present Walden Family Theater," a new Friday night appointment viewing franchise.

BIG SUR is an upcoming drama based on the life of journalist Jack Kerouac. Michael Polish directed and wrote the script for the film starring Jean-Marc Barr, Josh Lucas and Kate Bosworth. NBC has rescheduled the previously bumped episode of THE FIRM to this Saturday. To make room, the show's remaining episodes will be pushed back a week.
