The Coterie Theatre presents its first-ever bi-lingual production in the company's 37 year history with the stage adaptation of the award-winning book Tomas and the Library Lady. Based on the true life story of acclaimed Mexican-American author and education advocate, Dr. Tomas Rivera, Tomas and the Library Lady is adapted by Jose Cruz Gonzalez from the book by Pat Mora. It will be directed by Shanara Gabrielle and will be performed live on The Coterie's stage February 25 - March 18, 2016.

Recently appointed member of the National Council on the Arts Diane Rodriguez, Latino Theater Company's Jose Luis Valenzuela and Juliette Carrillo are part of the roster of directors for Hero Theatre's Festival Irene: Celebrating Maria Irene Fornes with Her Plays, Panels and the Words of Her Students. More festival directors include Jose Cruz Gonzalez, Beth Lopes, Sylvia Blush, Yetta Gottesman and Elisa Bocanegra.

The Theatre Company at the Denver Center for the Performing Arts is proud to announce the four selected playwrights for the 2016 Colorado New Play Summit. Two years ago, with funding from The James Irvine Foundation and in partnership with Latino Health Access, South Coast Repertory launched a play-development project in Santa Ana called Dialogue/Dialogos. The project captured the stories and memories of nearly 1,000 of the city's Latino residents, which created the core of a new bilingual play, The Long Road Today/El Largo Camino de Hoy,written by Jose Cruz Gonzalez.

Casting is complete for Rodgers and Hammerstein's Pipe Dream, the second Encores! production of the 2011-12 season, running March 28 - April 1. Pipe Dream will be directed by Marc Bruni with music direction by Rob Berman and choreography by Kelli Barclay.
