Prospect Theater Company will present a private developmental reading of the original musical The Underclassman on Monday, November 25th at New 42nd Street Studios (229 West 42nd Street, NYC). The Underclassman follows the early life of F. Scott Fitzgerald, from 1914 - 1917. Brilliantly talented, Fitzgerald is swept into the hierarchy of Ivy League society and the antics of the Princeton Triangle Club, in pursuit of the beautiful and elusive debutante Ginevra King - who became the model for the character of Daisy Buchanan in The Great Gatsby.

Grande debutto ieri al Teatro Brancaccino di Roma: la Capitale accoglie con applausi entusiastici e scroscianti RePlay - the musical, lo spettacolo 'off-Broadway' scritto da Mauro Simone e Fabio Ingrosso con musiche di Fabio Ingrosso e Riccardo Scire, candidato - tra l'altro - ai Premi BroadwayWorld Italia 2013 (qui la notizia). Applausi ben meritati, aggiungerei, di un pubblico che ha affrontato i primi freddi romani pur di assistere a questa delizia. L'idea di base e di per se interessante: quattro personaggi, due storie che trascendono tempo, spazio e dimensioni. Da un lato abbiamo la perfetta love story tra due ragazzi newyorkesi, Dave e Amy. Dall'altro abbiamo l'amore 'travagliato' tra Nico, un insicuro doppiatore italiano, e Giulia, la sua psicoterapeuta. I due piani scorrono in parallelo, sfiorandosi appena in un epilogo dolceamaro che ribaltera le carte in tavola (non svelero altro, se volete sapere come va a finire andate a vederlo!).
