Subtle British comedies of sex, morality and class like Mary Broome rarely wash up on these shores without the name George Bernard Shaw attached to them.  But thankfully the beachcombers of the Mint Theatre Company, specialists in providing sturdy mountings of the once popular/now obscure, came across this 1911 Allan Monkhouse curiosity that hasn't been seen in New York since 1919.

Mint Theater's (Jonathan Bank, Artistic Director) first-ever New York revival of Mary Broome by Allan Monkhouse opens Monday, September 10th and will run to October 14th at their home (311 West 43rd Street).

Main Street Theatre has been a staple in the Houston theatre scene since Rebecca Udden found the company in the 1970s. Over time, the company has continued to evolve and grow. It seems that Houston audiences may not be fully aware of just how dynamic this stellar theatre company is. To help set the record straight, Rebecca Udden, Founding and Executive Artistic Director, and Vivienne St. John, Theater For Youth Producing Director, spoke with me about this fantastic and multifaceted theatrical company.

The Academy of Television Arts & Sciences announced this morning the 64th Annual Primetime Emmy(R) Award nominations, recognizing AMC with 34 nominations, the most for any basic cable network for the fifth year in a row, breaking the previous 29 nomination record for the network from 2011.

Last night's season five debut of AMC's 'Breaking Bad' was the most watched episode in the history of the series. From 10pm - 11pm, the network earned a 2.2 HH rating delivering 2.9 million viewers. This marks an increase of +22%/ +14% respectively. Even more impressive is the exceptional growth among the coveted 18-49 demo, which saw a +34% increase versus last season's premiere. Among the Adults 25-54 demo, 'Breaking Bad' delivered 1.8 million marking an increase of +28%. For the night, 'Breaking Bad's' season 5 premiere attracted 3.5 million viewers with the 10:00 pm EST premiere and the 11:30pm EST encore. In August, AMC announced the final 16 episodes to conclude the series. 'Breaking Bad' airs on AMC Sunday nights at 10pm ET/PT.

The cast and producers of AMC's breakout hit series THE WALKING DEAD and BREAKING BAD will participate in hour-long panels at this year's Comic-Con in San Diego, CA.

AMC announced today its summer programming slate, including the highly anticipated premiere of the first part of 'Breaking Bad's' final season on Sunday, July 15 at 10pm ET/PT. The final season of the Emmy(R) Award-winning and critically acclaimed drama, produced by Sony Pictures Television, consists of 16 episodes, with the first eight episodes beginning July 15 and culminating with the series' final eight episodes next summer 2013.
