Mayor Brian P. Stack and the Board of Commissioners in conjunction with the Celia Cruz Park Committee and the Cuban Parade of New Jersey announce that the City of Union City will hold a Star Dedication Ceremony honoring distinguished members of the entertainment industry on Thursday, June 2nd at 5:00 PM at Celia Cruz Park located on Bergenline Avenue and 31st Street in Union City.

Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductees Little Anthony and The Imperials, the Chi-Lites, Martha Reeves and the Vandellas and The Stylistics will help headline the 17-city VA Salute to Veteran Patients, Valentines for Veterans Concert Series slated for February 10-21, 2011. Other Artists in the lineup include The Charlie Thomas Drifters, The Platters, the 5th Dimension starring Florence LaRue, Rock and Roll Hall of Famer Dennis Edwards and The Temptations Review, pop oldies icon Gary Lewis and The Playboys, A Tribute to the Drifters starring Bobby Hendricks, country music stars Daryle Singletary and Aaron Tippin, Grand Ole Opry Hall of Fame inductee Lorrie Morgan, the Silver Screen Cowboy Show, Latin heartthrob Jon Secada and American Idol finalist, Matt Giraud. The Concert Series is sponsored by the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) and national nonprofit organization Help Hospitalized Veterans (HHV), along with local VA medical centers and countless community organizations and sponsors.

Broadway singer/actress Janet Dacal will perform the National Anthem at this years Outback Bowl, officials announced today. Dacal is currently playing the role of Alice in Frank Wildhorn's WONDERLAND, coming to Broadway in the Spring of 2011. WONDERLAND will hold its pre-Broadway engagement at the Straz Center Jan. 4-16, 2011.
