In an interview with Deadline, Cynthia Erivo addressed the rumor that she and Ariana Grande would reprise their roles in Wicked on Broadway for a limited run next year.

The hit Broadway musical Wicked is officially coming to the big screen! BroadwayWorld collected all the information we could about the upcoming film - including who's starring, what viewers can expect, and what will change from stage to screen.

Don't expect a Hamilton movie anytime soon. Despite the enormous success of Lin-Manuel Miranda's Broadway musical, the creator explains why he is hesitant to bring it to the big screen. 

It's the most anticipated movie of the year. We have been waiting for a long time to experience the transfer from the stage version to the silver screen. With all the social media buzz, it's hard to escape WICKED THE MOVIE (Part 1). Still, apart from the Cynthia  Erivo/Ariana Grande exhibit friendship, the movie has a lot to offer. Directed by Jon M. Chu (who from now on should direct musical movie versions firsthand), you will find dozens of familiar faces, former  WICKED cast members, as well as hidden easter eggs, both in motion and music (if you want to get spoilers, check youtube).

Wicked is racking up nominations as one of the most-nominated films of the year for the 2024 Critics Choice Awards. Wicked, along with Conclave, lead this year’s film contenders, having earned 11 nominations each.

El próximo domingo 15 de diciembre a las 15.00h en el Instagram oficial de BroadwayWorld Spain la actriz y cantante Mirela Cabero estará en directo para hablarnos de su trabajo en la película WICKED como voz cantada de Elphaba.

La nueva producción contará con la dirección y adaptación de David Serrano y se estrenará en octubre de 2025 en el Nuevo Alcalá de Madrid.

American Cinema Editors (ACE) has announced the nominations for the 75th Annual ACE Eddie Awards, recognizing outstanding editing in 14 categories of film, television and documentaries. Nominees include Wicked, Moana 2, Emilia Perez, and more.

The National Board of Review (NBR) has announced their 2024 honorees, with top awards including Wicked for Best Film; Jon M. Chu for Best Director for Wicked; Daniel Craig for Best Actor for Queer; and Nicole Kidman for Best Actress for Babygirl.

The acclaimed new movie musical has been awarded Best Film of 2024 and Jon M. Chu for Best Director from the National Board of Review. Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande will also share the NBR Spotlight Award for their collaboration on the project.
