The hit musical WICKED, at London's Apollo Victoria Theatre, has set a new all-time record for a single week's gross in the West End. For the week 26-30 December 2006, WICKED grossed a record-breaking £873,020. WICKED was the West End's top-selling show during Christmas week and also set a new Box Office record at the Apollo Victoria for the third time:
Idina Menzel gave her final performance as the unusually green witch, Elphaba, in the London production of the hit musical Wicked on the 30th December at the Apollo Victoria Theatre. Her three-month contract, which paid a record-breaking $30,000 per week, is now over and Kerry Ellis takes over the role from 1st January 2007.
