Sean McDermott Joins SILENCE! THE MUSICAL, 1/19

Beginning this Saturday, January 19th, Broadway favorite Sean McDermott will star as serial killer Hannibal Lecter in Off-Broadway's smash hit SILENCE! The Musical. Following the announcement that SILENCE! would be ending its long run December 30th, ticket sales unexpectedly soared, shattering all previous box office records for the show so far. As a result, the producers determined that performances of the smash hit show will resume after a brief hiatus on January 19th.

After selling over 350 million records and racking up 73 songs on the Billboard Charts, Johnny Mathis has without a doubt, solidified his place in the history books. The traditional male vocalist, who emerged from the pop jazz and adult contemporary scene of the late 1950s, will perform at the Van Wezel Performing Arts Hall on January 16, 2013. A three time inductee into the Grammy Award Hall of Fame, Johnny's top ten hits include "Chances Are," "It's Not For Me To Say," "The Twelfth of Never," "Gina," "What Will Mary Say," and "Too Much, Too Little, Too Late," and many many more. One of the last male pop of his kind, he was also one of the few to sustain a lasting career well into the 21st century.

At 8 p.m. ET, 'A White House Christmas: First Families Remember' (1.6/5 in 18-49, 8.5 million viewers overall) earned NBC's highest 18-49 and total-viewer results in the time period since an NFL telecast on November 22. In a competitive slot versus Fox's 'X Factor' finale, CBS's encore comedies and ABC's 'Charlie Brown' special, 'A White House Christmas' improved on NBC's time-period average from last season by 7 percent in 18-49 rating (to a 1.6 from a 1.5) and by 145 percent in total viewers (8.462 million vs. 3.451 million, L+SD non-sports). In total viewers, 'A White House Christmas: First Families Remember' was competitive with Fox's 'X Factor' finale (8.462 million vs. 8.948 million for 'X Factor' in that hour).

These evenings will celebrate the holiday songs and favorite performers from the composer's wide range of work in popular, theatrical and classical music. All profits will go to The Actors Fund, a nationwide human services organization that helps all professionals in the performing arts and entertainment.

Singer Frank Dain, also known to the New York community as the Editor of Cabaret Scenes Magazine, will reprise The Magic of Mathis at Don't Tell Mama, Saturdays Dec. 8th and 15th at 6pm. This show was recently nominated for a Broadway World Award in Best Tribute Show category. The Magic of Mathis brings fresh interpretations to such Johnny Mathis signature tunes as "Chances Are," "It's Not for Me to Say," "Wild Is the Wind," "Misty" and "The Twelfth of Never. " Contributing creative arrangements is Dain's frequent collaborator, Musical Director Kathleen Landis, a popular pianist who is missed by many people at the Cafe Pierre, where she entertained audiences for years. The Magic of Mathis will also include some more obscure songs, as well, such as "99 Miles from L.A.," "Yellow Roses on Her Gown," "I'll Be Easy to Find" and "Photograph," all part of Mathis's remarkable 56-year career. The show, which ran very successfully at Metropolitan Room in September, has been directed by the Multi-award winning director/entertainer, Lennie Watts.
