The national tour of the Broadway musical MILLION DOLLAR QUARTET, inspired by the electrifying true story, will appear at the DuPont Theatre in Wilmington, Delaware for eight (8) performances only, from today, May 27 through June 1, 2014.

I never thought that writing a rave review would be more difficult than constructing a less than positive critique, but Carole J. Bufford, damn her, is causing me creative problems. That's because for the third time in three years I'm compelled to praise this attractive powerhouse cabaret singer to the skies (you can find my two previous essays on her unassailable talent here and here) and my author's arsenal contains only so many superlatives. With yet another outstanding performance last Thursday night at the Metropolitan Room, the young woman who was named BroadwayWorld.com's 2013 Cabaret Vocalist of the Year has snatched my mental thesaurus (not to mention my online one) and trampled all over it. She's given me the writer's block blues.

'Let's Get It On, The Life and Music of Marvin Gaye', following brilliant reviews and due to demand, another performance has been added at 6pm on Sunday 25 May, which will now be the final show of the Melbourne season.

This spring the Frist Center for the Visual Arts is proud to present American Ballads: The Photographs of Marty Stuart. The exhibition will be on display from today, May 9-November 2, 2014, in the Conte Community Arts Gallery, which is free to the public. Organized by Frist Center Curator Katie Delmez, American Ballads demonstrates that Stuart is a master storyteller not only through his songs, but also through his revealing photographs.
