CSO Music Director Jean-Marie Zeitouni will conduct the CSO's first performances in the Southern Theatre for the 2013-14 season, opening with the Suites & Songs program featuring guest mezzo-soprano Abigail Fischer and works from Respigh, Ravel, and Peter Liberson. Ravel's Le Tombeau de Couperin composition pays graceful homage to Francois Couperin and the other composers of eighteenth-century France. The CSO will also perform two additional movements from the original piano suite orchestrated by Jean-Marie. Ottorino Respighi's sparkling suite Trittico Botticelliano portrays the delightful paintings of Italian master Sandro Botticelli. Audiences will also enjoy Peter Lieberson's gorgeous musical love letters derived from the sonnets of Nobel prize-winning Chilean poet Pablo Neruda in Neruda Songs, featuring Kim Harrison Hopcraft as narrator.

Under the direction of Gerard Mortier, the Teatro Real is fast becoming one of the world's most innovative and exciting opera houses. With eight performances scheduled for early 2014—January 29 to February 11—Teatro Real will mount the first-ever production of Charles Wuorinen and Annie Proulx's BROKEBACK MOUNTAIN.

On Wednesday, October 16 at 8:00 p.m., in Stern Auditorium / Perelman Stage, The Silk Road Ensemble with Yo-Yo Ma returns to Carnegie Hall to celebrate the 15th anniversary of The Silk Road Project-an initiative aimed at promoting innovation and cross-cultural understanding through performance and the arts.

?Four concerts from October to November will showcase the work of artists hailing from the United States, Germany and Japan, including: improvisational German trumpeter Birgit Ulher with Eric Leonardson (Oct. 8 at 8 p.m.); electro-acoustic chamber music outfit Gene Coleman and Ensemble N_JP (Oct. 23 at 8 p.m.); Chicago-based flutist Lisa Goethe-McGinn (Nov. 10 at 2 p.m.); and Japenese shamisen performers Yoko Reikano Kimura and Yumiko Tanaka (Nov. 13 at 8 p.m.). The musicians' work oscillates between the traditional and the contemporary, probing noise and silence equally, shifting between reactive improvisation and studied composition.

Japan Society is proud to host groundbreaking artists John Zorn and Ryuichi Sakamoto for an improvisatory pair of currently sold-out performances on Friday, October 4 at 7:30pm and 9:30pm. This evening represents the final performance in the multi-show Zorn@60 celebration, commemorating John Zorn'skanreki, his sixtieth birthday; coinciding with the Japan Society Performing Arts Program's sixtieth anniversary celebration.

NYU Skirball Center for the Performing Arts is pleased to announce programming for its tenth season, 2013-14. In its first decade, NYU Skirball has made substantial contributions not only to the community surrounding the country's largest private university, but also to a broader cultural landscape. In recent years, Executive Director Michael Harrington has used the venue-which, with 860 seats and state-of-the-art production capabilities, is unique in downtown Manhattan-to provide a platform for artists from around the world and from the facility's Greenwich Village neighborhood to practice their craft on a larger scale. Tom Gold Dance has been invited back to be a part of Stars Of Ballet in Bilbao, Spain, as part of the program Works & Process at the Guggenheim. This will be the 5th season for the company in Bilbao. They will present performances on Wednesday, August 21 and Thursday, August 22 at 7:30 pm at El Auditorio del Museo Guggenheim, Bilbao, Spain.
