Columbus Children's Theatre to Present HAIRSPRAY, 7/5-20

Columbus Children's Theatre will present Hairspray, July 5th-July 20th at the Columbus Children's Theatre located at 512 Park Street, Columbus, OH. Hairspray, winner of 8 Tony Awards, including Best Musical, is a family-friendly musical piled bouffant high with laughter, romance, and deliriously tuneful songs. Based on the New Line Cinema film, written and directed by John Waters, this production will be performed by Columbus Children's Theatre's Summer Pre-Professional Company (ages 16-22).

RB Productions to Open Summer Youth Series with HAIRSPRAY, 7/11-12

RB Productions' 2014 Summer Youth Theatre series to feature Hairspray, Cinderella Jr, Fiddler on the Roof Jr, and Into the Woods Jr. Starring talented young performers ages 8 to 19, these productions are sure to be family favorites this summer.

The Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) paid tribute to the winners and honorees of the 2014 CFDA Fashion Awards in collaboration with Swarovski at Alice Tully Hall, Lincoln Center. Film director and screenwriter John Waters was the host for the evening. For the thirteenth year in a row, the evening was generously underwritten by Swarovski.

John Waters Releases CARSICK

John Waters's (Pink Flamingos, Hairspray) newest book, Carsick, tells the true story of how in 2012 he hitchhiked from Baltimore to San Francisco. The Meeting* hosted by Justin Sayre, the acclaimed comedy/variety show, will continue its engagement at JOE'S PUB at The Public Theater on Sunday, May 18 at 9:30 PM with a celebration of the pop diva Janet Jackson. After a highly-successful season at 54 Below, The Meeting* has returned to its downtown roots this year with shows through May. The Meeting* has been called "delicious and delightfully droll" by The New York Post, and "hilarious and sardonic" by The Village Voice. A recent story for Slate.com called the evening "so deliciously icy that it left me shivering with fear and delight." The May show will feature special guests Cole Escola, Nadia Quinn of "Summer & Eve" and John Early, with others to be announced.

Meet the Composers of MURDEROUS MUSICAL MONDAYS- Spotlight on Joe Iconis

The cast and creative team of the hit Off-Broadway musical Murder for Two are teaming up with some of New York's brightest up and coming composers and BroadwayWorld.com every Monday night for their spring concert series, Murderous Musical Mondays. Composer Joe Iconis contines the series on Monday, May 5, 2014, immediately following the 7pm performance of Murder for Two at New World Stages (Stage 5 - 340 West 50th Street). The vaudevillian characters of Tom Waits music will come to life on stage in A Concert of Tom Waits Songs presented by Arts Centre Melbourne tonight 24 and Saturday 26 April 8pm, 2014 at Arts Centre Melbourne's Fairfax Studio. After a nine-month sell-out run in New York, international cabaret star Stewart D'Arrietta will take audiences on a rollicking journey through Waits' legendary songs, accompanied by renowned Australian guitarist Ross Hannaford (Daddy Cool / the Black Sorrows / Goanna), double bassist Philip Rex and drummer Danny Fischer.
