Columbus Children's Theatre to Present HAIRSPRAY, 7/5-20

Columbus Children's Theatre will present Hairspray, July 5th-July 20th at the Columbus Children's Theatre located at 512 Park Street, Columbus, OH. Hairspray, winner of 8 Tony Awards, including Best Musical, is a family-friendly musical piled bouffant high with laughter, romance, and deliriously tuneful songs. Based on the New Line Cinema film, written and directed by John Waters, this production will be performed by Columbus Children's Theatre's Summer Pre-Professional Company (ages 16-22).

It's 1962 in Baltimore, MA and the loveable plus size teen Tracy Turnblad has only one desire to dance on the popular Corny Collins Show. When Tracy's dream comes true, she is transformed from social outcast to sudden star. She must use her profound power to dethrone the reigning Teen Queen, win the affections of hearthrob Link Larkin, and integrate a TV network, all without denting her 'do!
