RB Productions' 2014 Summer Youth Theatre series to feature Hairspray, Cinderella Jr, Fiddler on the Roof Jr, and Into the Woods Jr. Starring talented young performers ages 8 to 19, these productions are sure to be family favorites this summer.

Hairspray opens the series with performances on Friday, July 11, at 7pm and Saturday, July 12, at 2 & 7pm. Based on the John Waters film, this musical follows spunky plus-size teen Tracy Turnblad's quest to dance on the popular Corny Collins Show. When she finally gets her shot, she's transformed from social outcast to sudden star. In balancing her new-found power with her desire for justice, Tracy fights to dethrone the reigning Miss Teen Hairspray, Amber von Tussle, and integrate a TV network in the process. With the help of her outsized mom, Edna, and guest DJ Motormouth Maybelle, the rhythm of Tracy's new beat just might prove unstoppable.

On Friday, July 18, at 7pm & Saturday, July 19, at 2pm & 7pm, Cinderella, Jr. offers the timeless enchantment of a magical fairy tale reborn with the Rodgers & Hammerstein hallmarks of originality, charm and elegance. Originally presented on television in 1957 starring Julie Andrews, Rodgers & Hammerstein's Cinderella was the most widely viewed program in the history of the medium. Its recreation in 1965 starring Lesley Ann Warren was no less successful in transporting a new generation to the miraculous kingdom of dreams-come-true, and so was a second remake in 1997, which starred Brandy as Cinderella and Whitney Houston as her Fairy Godmother. As adapted for the stage, with great warmth and more than a touch of hilarity, the hearts of children and adults alike still soar when the slipper fits.

The series continues on Friday, July 25, at 7 & Saturday, July 26, at 2pm & 7pm with Fiddler on the Roof, Jr. Winner of 10 Tony Awards when it debuted in 1965, the show is the brainchild of Broadway legends Jerome Robbins, Harold Prince, songwriters Jerry Bock and Sheldon Harnick, and bookwriter Joseph Stein. Touching audiences worldwide with its humor, warmth and honesty, this universal show is a staple of the musical theatre canon.

Into the Woods, Jr. closes the RB Productions Summer Youth Series on Friday August 1, at 7pm & Saturday, August 2, at 2pm & 7pm. All of your favorite characters-Cinderella, Little Red Riding Hood, Jack (and his beanstalk), and the Witch-meet and interact in this whimsical original story. The musical centers on a baker and his wife who wish to have a child; Cinderella, who wishes to attend the king's festival; and Jack, who wishes his cow would give milk. When the baker and his wife learn that they cannot have a child because of a witch's curse, the two set off on a journey to break the curse and wind up changed forever.
