The music scene in Middlebury is jumping. Two Brothers Tavern, 51 Main and Town Hall Theater offer a wide range of music every week of the year. And now the town has its own recording studio.

The Manhattan Association of Cabarets & Clubs is proud to announce a new annual show to be held each fall, called MAC presents THEY WRITE THE SONGS. The inaugural show will be held Sunday, November 18th at 4pm at Baruch College's Engelman Recital Hall (Lexington Avenue at 25th Street).

SPN Films' Broke, which kicked off the 30 for 30 Vol. II series on October 2, ranks as the highest-rated 30 for 30 documentary yet, delivering a 1.9 HH cvg rtg and 2.7M viewers. Broke is the second highest-rated and most viewed documentary on ESPN, only preceded by ESPN Films' The Fab Five. Many athletes and celebrities took to Twitter while the film aired Tuesday night, with LeBron James, Michael Vick, Dwyane Wade, John Wall, Logan Morrison, Graham Rahal and Roddy White among those tweeting to discuss and weigh in on the topic.

Continuing its commitment to nurturing and producing the next generation of musical theatre artists, Second Stage Theatre (Carole Rothman, Artistic Director) has awarded its first annual Donna Perret Rosen Award for excellence in musical theatre to composer/lyricist Adam Gwon. The $10,000 award was established at the off-Broadway company's 2011 gala to honor Second Stage Theatre trustee Donna Perret Rosen in recognition of her long-standing commitment to young artists and new works. The award was chosen by Tony Award winners James Lapine, Susan Stroman, and Jack Viertel.

MAC Award nominated songwriters Sam Carner & Derek Gregor (Unlock'd) and Drew Fornarola (COLLEGE The Musical) team up for AWKWARD THREESOME: Carner & Gregor and also Fornarola at The Duplex Thursday, June 28 at 9:30pm. They will be joined by some of Broadway's top young performers. The songwriters will present selections from their shows, as well as debuting a new song co-written by all three of them. The evening will be directed by Marlo Hunter with music direction by Gregor and Emily Whitaker. Scheduled to perform are Claybourne Elder (Bonnie and Clyde); Ali Ewoldt (Les Miserables); Alyssa Fox (Wicked - SF); Julie Reiber (Wicked); A.J. Shively (La Cage Aux Folles); Brian Sills (The Lion King Tour); Sarah Stiles (Avenue Q); and Dashaun Young (The Lion King).

The National Alliance for Musical Theatre (NAMT) announced today the eight musicals selected to be part of the 23rd Annual Festival of New Musicals on Thursday, October 27 and Friday, October 28 at New World Stages (340 West 50th Street).

Antaeus, L.A.'s multiple award-winning classical theater company, presents the U.S. premiere of Noël Coward's rarely produced anti-war drama, Peace In Our Time. Casey Stangl directs the fully double-cast production of a new adaptation, with music, by Barry Creyton. Gala openings took place on October 20, 21, 22 and 23, with performances continuing through December 11 at The Antaeus Company‘s interim North Hollywood home at Deaf West Theatre.
