KINKY BOOTS, the smash-hit musical that brings together four-time Tony Award-winner Harvey Fierstein (Book) and Grammy Award-winning rock icon Cyndi Lauper (Tony Award-winner for Best Score for KINKY BOOTS), performs at the Providence Performing Arts Center (PPAC) June 9-14, 2015. KINKY BOOTS is part of the Taco/ White Family Foundation Broadway Series.

The Muny announced today several principal cast members for the seven shows in its spectacular 97th season, which opens on June 15 with My Fair Lady. Full casts and companies will be announced throughout May.

Kyle Taylor Parker, who took over the role in Porter's absence, will head back on the road to continue strutting his stuff as Lola in the First National Touring Production of Kinky Boots.

Kinky Boots, the smash-hit musical that brings together four-time Tony Award-winner Harvey Fierstein (Book) and Grammy Award-winning rock icon Cyndi Lauper (Tony Award-winner for Best Score for Kinky Boots), opens for a two-week engagement at the Forrest Theatre tonight, April 28 - May 10, as part of Broadway Philadelphia, presented collaboratively by the Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts and the Shubert Organization. The press opening is Wednesday, April 29 at 7:30 p.m.

BroadwayWorld has learned this morning that casting we previously reported for the Toronto production of Kinky Boots has been confirmed. American Broadway touring vet Alan Mingo Jr. will star as Lola - the role originated by Billy Porter in the Broadway production. Graham Scott Fleming will play Charlie Price, the young man who inherits a shoe-factory from his father, only to learn it isn't financially stable.

Colorado native, Ace Young, comes home in the new 2014 national tour of JOSEPH AND THE AMAZING TECHNICOLOR DREAMCOAT. Directed and choreographed by Tony Award-winner Andy Blankenbuehler, JOSEPH AND THE AMAZING TECHNICOLOR DREAMCOAT plays The Buell Theatre tonight, April 22- 26 only. Tony and Grammy Award winner Heather Headley will star as 'The Witch' in Stephen Sondheim and James Lapine's Into The Woods, directed by Gary Griffin and playing July 21 - 27, 2015 at The Muny, the nation's largest outdoor musical theatre. This production marks the Muny premiere of Into the Woods, and will be Ms. Headley's first performance in a musical in America since her 2000 Tony award winning performance in the original Broadway production of Elton John and Tim Rice's Aida.

BroadwayWorld Toronto has learned that American actor Alan Mingo Jr. will play Lola in the Toronto production of KINKY BOOTS. Mingo Jr. joins Graham Scott Fleming as Charlie Price, a casting which BroadwayWorld previously reported. The Toronto production is set to begin performances at The Royal Alexandra Theatre on June 16, 2015.

It feels like it could have been written yesterday, but THE COLORED MUSEUM, now in a rollicking revival at the Huntington Theatre Company in Boston, Mass., was actually first produced in 1986. Written by the estimable Broadway playwright and director George C. Wolfe (Jelly's Last Jam, Angels in America: Millennium Approaches) and directed here with great panache by Tony Award winner Billy Porter (Kinky Boots), this scathing "black black comedy" marches through 300 years of African American history by way of 11 funny but also penetrating living vignettes.
