Dance New Amsterdam (DNA), NYC's foremost progressive dance education and performance center, continues to foster emerging artists with the 2011-2012 RAW Material performance series, October 6-7, 2011 at 8:00pm.
The Other Side premiered at The Tank 45th Theater interweaves dance, images, and live music into one multimedia performance. It evokes memories lost in time and space. It is about a place where past and present meet and re-meet, creating spatial wrinkles, and temporal reminiscences. Past collides and harmonizes with present in movements, creating free associations and new meanings. This dynamic process is to reveal and suture one's psyche in discontinuity, which is out of reach on the other side of oneself.

The Muddy Waters Theater company concludes their season devoted to playwright Eugene O'Neill with an American classic; LONG DAY'S JOURNEY INTO NIGHT. After you see this intense and powerful play, you'll understand why O'Neill didn't allow it to be staged during his lifetime, since it's autobiographical in nature, and would have obviously rekindled painful memories from his past. This production is especially well acted, and brings this season of O'Neill to a dramatic finish.

It's coming -- it's coming -- it's COMING -- the FRUIT CUP AWARDS of International CringeFest '10. On Sunday, August 8, after the 4 p.m. show, 'No Holes Barred,' the Golden Pineapple, Silver Tomato, Bronze Banana, and Jack Lemons will be bestowed upon the chosen few (by audience vote) of talented writers, directors, and actors. Then, there's a party-till-you-drop in the lounge with splendiferous food, donated by some of NYC's best gourmet restaurants and markets.
Richard Pryor Jr. (1st-born son of the late great) stars in International CringeFest '10, the seriously irreverent annual festival presented by NY Artists Unlimited at the Producers' Club, 358 W. 44 St., runs through August 8.
Directors and writers have been lined up for International CringeFest '10, which opens on Monday, July 19, and closes on Sunday, August 8, in the Grand Theatre at the Producers' Club, 358 W. 44 St. These are REALLY GOOD & HILARIOUS works that are irreverent, politically incorrect, politically satirical, naughty, and utterly zany -- don't you want some of that?!
