NYMF Accepting Submissions for Next Link Project Through 3/1

The New York Musical Theatre Festival (NYMF) announced today that open submissions to the Next Link Project, which guarantees production slots in the 2011 Festival, have begun. The submission deadline is March 1st; those who submit materials by Tuesday, February 1st will receive a discount on the application fee. The 2011 New York Musical Theatre Festival runs September 26 - October 16, 2011.
The Flea Theatre Presents A WORLD APART Beginning 2/4

The Flea Theater (www.theflea.org) will present the World Premiere of Creation Production Company's 'A WORLD APART' by Susan Mosakowski, with performances beginning on Friday, February 4th and the official opening set for Sunday, February 6th at 3:00 p.m. Jean Randich will direct the production, which will be performed at The Flea Theater, 41 White Street (between Broadway and Church Street).

Virginia Stage Company presents Grammy Award winner Bruce Hornsby's musical, entitled SCKBSTD will feature Tony nominee Robert Cuccioli ad will be directed by Tony winner John Rando. The production is set to take place January 18 through February 6, 2011. Joining Cuccioli in SCKBSTD are Kevin Mambo, Jill Paice, William Parry, Marcus Lovett, Jayne Paterson, Brynn Williams, Riley Costello, Garrett Long, Rosa Curry, Karl Warden, EuGene Barry-Hill, and Ken Cavett. Cherry Lane's Fiordellisi to Step Down as Artistic Director in 2011

According to the NY Times, Cherry Lane Theatre's Angelina Fiordellisi, will resign as Artistic Director sometime between March and June of 2011. Additionally, Fiordellisi plans to sell the building, which has been a Greenwich Village staple since 1924, due to ongoing financial struggles.
