The biggest Monday Musicals to date took place at XL Cabaret on Monday, October 21st. Revelers celebrated XL Promotional Director Dougie Meyer's birthday and sang and danced along to VJ Tony Built's music and visuals from some of Broadway's biggest shows, which could be viewed across a half-dozen screens throughout the club. The Off-Broadway comedy 5 Lesbians Eating a Quiche is celebrating National Coming Out Day by encouraging closeted LGBT community-members to come out by baking their own "Coming Out Quiche" - a special recipe featuring favorite fall flavors - as a symbol of his/her pride and sending it to loved ones. There is no nicer way to say, "I'm gay!"
This summer Steps Off Broadway will be hosting master dance classes and lectures being taught by NYC and Broadway professionals. These classes and lectures are open to the public. Monday night marked the 300th performnce for the national tour of HAIR, now performing at Broadways St James Theatre. The Tony Award-winning revival of HAIR kicked of its first national tour at the Kennedy Center in Washington DC on October 28, 2010 (following a preview engagement in New Haven, CT) and played 20 cities around the country before heading back to Broadway for a limited 'Summer of Love' run at the St. James Theatre (246 West 44th Street).
