Category 7 in association with La Salle Academy and Nativity Mission announces the cast and creative team for Stand-Up Tragedy, Bill Cain's searing 1991 play about a Lower East Side middle school, where an idealistic young teacher sets out to save one of his students from an abusive family and the streets. Directed by Nicholas Minas, performances begin at Nativity Church (44 2nd Avenue - between 2nd & 3rd Streets) on Saturday, April 12, 2013 and will continue through May 4.

MadLab will present She's Dead by Joe Giordano, the hilariously touching story of Erin and her friends as they attempt to fulfill Erin's final wishes for a home funeral, at 8:00, tonight, March 8th-23rd, Fridays and Saturdays, with an opening preview on Thursday March 7th at MadLab Theatre & Gallery, 227 N. 3rd St., Columbus.

Kokandy Productions proudly announces its first two-show season featuring 'Danny and the Deep Blue Sea', April 12 - 28 at the Athenaeum Theatre, 2636 N. Due to popular demand, The Flea Theater has announced that Hamish Linklater's playwriting debut THE VANDAL will return for a limited 2 weekend run beginning March 22. The Dramatists Guild Fund presented their Madge Evans and Sidney Kingsley Award to actress Linda Lavin and playwright Lynn Nottage this past Monday evening. FRIGID NEW YORK presents A Bricken and Birch Production, Sisters Grimm: Fables of the Stage. Written by Bricken Sparacino and Amy E. The Lyric Stage Company of Boston presents STONES IN HIS POCKETS by Marie Jones, featuring Daniel Berger-Jones and Phil Tayler, running tonight, February 15 - March 16, 2013.

-The New School for Drama has announced a new Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dramatic Arts, which will launch in fall 2013. Drawing on The New School's tradition of progressive artistic inquiry and civic engagement, the BFA is a pre-professional degree that emphasizes collaborative studio work and hands-on experience with working theater artists in New York City. Led by playwright and Artistic Director Jon Robin Baitz (Other Desert Cities), the BFA is guided by an Advisory Board the includes include Sarah Jessica Parker, director Doug Hughes, playwright John Guare, and 24 Hour Plays creator Tina Fallon. The Advisory Board will provide artistic, professional and fundraising support to the program.

Michael Puzzo's Spirits of Exit Eleven at The Lion Theatre at Theatre Row (410 W. 42nd Street, NYC) opened on Thursday, January 17th at 8PM. Presented by Justin Reinsilber and directed by Frank Licato, the world premiere of this new American play is directed by Frank Licato. The production runs through February 2nd.
