NBC's November 22 9 a.m.-noon ET coverage of the 86th annual 'Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade' has edged last year's average audience to deliver the event's biggest viewership in the last 11 years.

From 9 a.m.-noon, the 86th annual MACY'S THANKSGIVING DAY PARADE averaged a 12.1 rating, 26 share in households in the 56 local markets metered by Nielsen Media Research, finishing within 2% of last year's 12.3/26. 'Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade' topped the metered-market household rating of every primetime entertainment telecast on ABC, CBS, NBC, Fox or CW of the past week.

NBC offers a stocking full of festive holiday programming this season original Christmas music/variety specials from Blake Shelton (Monday, December 3; 10-11 p.m. ET) and Michael Buble (Monday, December 10 10-11 p.m. ET); the new special 'Christmas in the White House' (Thursday, December 13, 8-9 p.m. ET) and the traditional tree-lighting ceremony on 'Christmas in Rockefeller Center' (Wednesday, November 28, 8-9 p.m. ET).

NBC will present the 11th annual edition of its popular holiday special 'The National Dog Show Presented by Purina(R)' this Thanksgiving Day, from noon to 2:00 p.m. in all time zones, following the telecast of NBC's Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade(R).

Christie Brinkley, one of the world's most successful supermodels, will make her Boston debut in the National Tour of the Tony Award-winning hit musical "Chicago." She will star as merry murderess Roxie Hart with John O'Hurley as Billy Flynn in a strictly limited 6-show engagement at the Citi Performing Arts Center Wang Theatre tonight, November 1-4. Press night is set for tonight, November 1 at 7:30 pm. Tickets go on sale on Friday, September 7 at 10 am.

= Christie Brinkley, who played this role twice on Broadway, gives it a professional effort (adopting a speaking voice that sounds a lot like original Roxie Gwen Verdon), and she looks terrific, but singing and dancing don't come naturally to the former supermodel.

CHICAGO is a musical that's burdened by the weight of its expectations. From the classic score by Kander and Ebb, to Bob Fosse's legendary choreography, to the original cast of Gwen Verdon, Chita Rivera, and Jerry Orbach, and to the modern casting of Ann Reinking, of Joel Grey, of John O'Hurley, and of Charlotte D'Amboise, everything about it is mythic.
