Steppenwolf Theatre Company hosts an evening of conversation about the world of storytelling on Monday, April 16 in Steppenwolf's Downstairs Theatre. Featured for the event are two expert storytellers, Tony Award-winning ensemble member Frank Galati and Pulitzer Prize-finalist E.L. Doctorow, moderated by Steppenwolf Artistic Director Martha Lavey.

The Artistic Home is proud to announce its mainstage season for the 2009-2010 season. The season will open with the rarely produced DAYS TO COME from renowned playwright, Lillian Hellman, continue with the comedic classic THE SKIN OF OUR TEETH by Thorton Wilder, and close with the World Premiere of THE TALLEST MAN by Artistic Home Associate, Jim Lynch. The Artistic Home's Acting Studio will also produce two works this season to be announced at a later date.
The Artistic Home's 2008/2009 season continues its exploration of the artist in society with the rarely produced Modigliani by Dennis McIntyre. The second production in Artistic Home's Mainstage series, Modigliani will be directed by Artistic Director Kathy Scambiatterra and will feature Artistic Home co-founder and Associate Director, John Mossman in the title role. Modigliani opens February 8th and runs through March 22, 2009 at The Artistic Home's new residence, 3914 N. Clark Street in Chicago. Performances are Thursdays at 7:30pm, Fridays and Saturdays at 8:00pm, and Sundays at 3:00pm. Previews are February 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th and 7th at 8:00pm. The Parisian posterchild for the free-wheeling lifestyle of 1900s Bohemia, Modi - as he was known to his friends - filled his days with drugs, liquor, sex, art and the company of his many colorful compatriots. Yet, as he began to feel the weight of his age and the increasing pressure to produce, Modi soon came face-to-face with the limits of his own mortality and the realities of living in a world where product holds more value than process and love can't hold a candle to the prospect of fame.

The Artistic Home at 3914 North Clark Street 2008/2009 season consists of three mainstage productions: Look Homeward Angel by Ketti Frings, Modigliani by Dennis McIntyre, and The Latent Heterosexual by Paddy Chayefsky. The Artistic Home Acting Studio will also produce two productions: The Fox by Alan Miller and another production to be announced.
