Soul Group Harold Melvin's Blue Notes Comes to The RRazz Room, Now thru 9/23

The RRazz Room, San Francisco's premier nightclub, will present a special week-long run of the legendary soul group HAROLD MELVIN'S BLUE NOTES. For their show, the Blue Notes will be singing all of their greatest hits including Grammy Award-nominated classics such as "If You Don't Know Me By Now," "The Love I Lost," "Don't Leave Me This Way," "Wake Up Everybody" and "Bad Luck." The group features vocalists Donnell Gillespie, better known as 'Big Daddy," Rufus Thorne (also called 'Fuss'), Anthony Brooks, and John Morris.

PIPE DREAM's Live Encores! Album Released Today

Rodgers & Hammerstein's PIPE DREAM, recorded live at New York City Center's Encores! series in March, will be released by Ghostlight Records today - Tuesday September 18. Produced by Rodgers & Hammerstein: An Imagem Company, this preservation of Rodgers & Hammerstein's 1955 Broadway musical rarity marks the first time an Encores! musical has been recorded live.

Larry Josephson has been making trouble on the radio since 1966, starting as WBAI's infamous grumpy morning man. The competition, John Gambling and his ilk, were pushing oleaginous treacle on morning radio. Larry broke all the rules of radio: he ate his breakfast on the air, insulted listeners at a time when Howard Stern was crawling around Levittown in leather diapers. He told the story of his life on the radio, or as much as the FCC and the libel laws would allow.
